Bringing an R-type pcb? nah... I'm picking up a whole R-type *cabinet* before i make it to the meet. Figured if I'm making the drive to KC anyway, might as well pick up some hardware as well.

yeah oxtsu was like "a cab? he's bringing a whole cab?" and I was like welll I thought that's what he said... I later went back and changed it to pcb

note to KC dudes - I'm packing two superguns so we will have more PCB time. Damocles, if you have a spare DB-15 (NeoGeo extension) cable please bring one.

kansas city shmupmeet was a success... steve probably won't log on again between now and his vacation time, so i guess i'll post saying thanks to everybody who showed up. double triple thanks to oxtsu for setting us up the ketsui. also bay's futari board will have some nice scores on it, damocles whooped that game pretty hard. pics coming up soon i think.

Thanks Stuminator and szycag for setting this thing up! Nice location, easy to find. I had a great time and it was great to meet everyone.

oxtsu- How much praise can we give you for bringing the guns and the boards? Awesome selection! I don't think any of us had played Ketsui before. We've seen the videos, we listen to the hype, we watch the prices sky-rocket. I think Damocles said it the best, it is a damn sexy beast of a game. Certainly a gem in Cave's shmup crown.

Sorry if I was sitting at the game a little to often guys. It was a love affair, I must confess. And I was still knocked out of the high score screen!

Oh well, I'm glad everybody was able to witness my mad skills!

bay - Thank you so much for letting us experience Futari! Another winner from Cave. Tough as nails, but beautiful to behold. Damocles did give it a good run, too.

Hopefully we can do this again in the near future! Had a great time!

I'll echo Gunbird's sentiments. Thanks muchly for the location, stuminator and szycag! And more thanks to oxtsu for the goods. Ketsui and Mushihimesama Futari were great, and I got to see a lot of new stuff (and thanks for the tips on stick building too). All in all, a very successful meet.

btw... <3 ketsui. Now I somehow have to find a way to play it again!

Ok, rather than write about about the cool shizz that went on that day (sorry), I'd just like to give shout outs. So....BIG THANKS to stuminator for hosting, szycag for his work in organizing, gunbird18, Aleanil and Damocles for coming out and making things busy, and last but not least, bay for the Mushi2 loanage thereby making things 2x hot! yah
