If your American and your IQ is more than everyone combined in this video. You shouldn't take offense.

Wow, I could answer most of those questions correctly and I went to public schools all my life.

This guy should have his college money revoked. I'd be mighty pissed if I was his parents paying for him to go to school.

I'm sure they edited out the smart ones. The fact that there are ANY people to answer questions like that though is just sad.

Some of the questions don't show stupidity but rather a lack of connection to the world.

I just don't know who I can trust anymore. I watch these videos of stupid Americans but how am I supposed to know if it those were paid actors or something? I know there are A LOT of stupid people out there but I just can't believe some of those answers coming out. I keep reading articles on Impeaching Bush/Cheney and how we are going to war with even more countries (Iran, *insert country here*). With all this 'spin' going on in the 'government controlled' media who am I supposed to turn to?

Heck, I just read that a local farmer in my state wants to make Hemp legal.

There's a series of videos where they interview harvard grads about questions that a high school student SHOULD be able to answer--and of course they can't get them.

I've always found those rather unfair--I don't really expect a business major to know why the earth has seasons, or where the mass of a tree comes from, but this youtube video is just staggeringly bad.

I'd like to believe it is all fake, but rather I think they just edited out all the people who gave reasonable answers. After all, there are really stupid people everywhere (as Andi said)

Stupid Americans!

I always feel the people around here are not smart. It is funny when talking with dumb people and they are speak incorrect information and honestly think they are correct when true facts are right around the corner.

I am in USA  and it is sad that this country is indeed have lack of intelligence.

It won't be long until United States of America fall like ancient Roman Empire.

There were some questions I didn't know. I'm sure not many could answer all of them.

Main religion of Israel? Is that Judaism?

I've heard the term Coalition of the willing but I don't really know what they are asking. I'm assuming its those countries fighting alongside USA in the war against terror. IE, UK.

Those were the only two questions I didn't get with 100% understanding. Although the question for the country starting with U, I initially thought Uraguay, not USA or UK for that matter.

If they had went to any other modern country, the results would have been the same among the common class. If these were Harvard or MIT grads, then i'd be worried.

I picked Uganda. I had never even heard of the coalition of the willing until I saw the clip. I just assumed he meant "allies".

That clip almost seems politically driven propaganda.

Questions such as the main religion of Isreal?
Thats almost a trick question - (I stop there - Not going to get into religion/political discussions)

Also those people ask questions like "who would you go to war with next?"
Mention of the war on terror and whatnot...

There is political meaning in that whole arrangement

Funny you should say that. The person who sent me the youtube link in the first place sent it because they believe America wants to be the only government in the world. WW1, WW2, Vietnam and 911 were all launched via provocation to boost the economy of America at the time.

Even going as far as conspiracy theories. The video was sent because it is the belief of many that American citizens are dumbed down on purpose. The money that should go into schools is being taken away and so is the ability for the students to think for themselves.

Granted, most of those questions you could get answered just by watching TV. The media is apparently a dumbing down tool, a voice of pursuasion.

George W Bush was apparently voted in by States with the lowest IQ's afterall, or is that a myth as well?

This is not strictly my opinion btw.. I'm just letting you know how I came about this youtube.[/quote]

It really doesn't say much about the IQ of the UK when it becomes obvious that they ripped this bit off Jay Leno. It looks like the clip is taken from a sad daily show derivative too...

Come on UK, are you trying to compete with Australia for the crown of America Jr? You gave us The Office... you are better than this.

Well they are. I always bust a gut laughing when some UAW shill tries to get me to buy a car of lower quality because "some welder needs six figures a year to get by." So I have to bite the bullet and buy a crappy car for that? Bullcrap I say! BULLCRAP.

Right now UAW are trying to get established at the local Toyota plant. I, for one, hope they don't succeed and are replaced with a union who cares about product quality as much as securing ultra high salaries.

I've never seen this footage before in my life, I have no idea which show its on or even if it is a show. There are spelling mistakes in the subtitles which says to me it was not done professionally or the subtitles were added afterwards.

Although the joke is made on Americans you have to understand its only a handful of people that made this video and does not represent the opinion of a nation.

Also, America is one of those countries where quite a majority of the people don't give a crap about anything regarding what happens outside of their borders. Where as we (Brits) have always had the perspective of caring about what goes on anywhere in the world because everything affects us.

Whoa watch it there, you're starting to fulfill the British stereotype of "pompousness" that a few Americans hold(you know the same ones that aren't aware of anything outside America's borders?). Fortunately I listen to a British online radio station at work called Fresh Air. I find it breaks down stereotypes because it gives me a daily injection of "britishness" and I'm liking what I hear.

http://www.freshair.org.uk/

You should try watching some youtube videos of the daily show sometime or maybe trying out dvds of the American version of the Office. You might find it refreshing.

Actually I guess they asked those political questions just to point out how little the people know about politics/geography/etc.
Also, I can just second what neorichieb said.
