I haven't played in awhile, but I recall it being a rather obvious item someplace in the options menu...I remember simply moving the cursor over "shot," "bomb" or whatever and pressing whatever button I wanted to use for it.

Really? In all the time I've played it I have always thought that you could only reconfigure the controls if you were using a gamepad and if you used the keyboard then you were stuck with the default controls.

Hm, I was unaware that this was an issue, since I always use a gamepad. That would be an odd omission on ZUN's part...

It in the Options menu, under the deceptively labeled "KeyConfig" option. Tricky..... :) :)

The problem wasn't finding it. If I remember correctly, I (and prometheus apparently) couldn't remap the keyboard controls. I found the menu just fine. The game just didn't seem to be able to remap the keyboard, only gamepads.

I've had the exact same problem with that, and a couple of the other Touhou games.

Where you go into the Keyconfig, but it doesnt DO anything.....

Since the keys were so badly set up, I couldnt play them at all till I finally had a controller to use.

How about making virtual joystick with PPjoy and then using joy2key to turn it back to keys?
Or maybe controlling the game directly with said virtual joystick would be simpler.
