FUCK!

had my espgaluda PCB lying on a shelf and my goddamn cat knocked it off, fell 2 meters straight onto the floor...

PCB looks fine except the eeprom is busted, to pieces.. argh..

is there any way to fix it?
is it possible to burn a new eeprom and replace it with?
anyone up for some experimentation?

lesson for everyone: dont mix your PCBs with your pets :!:

At least your cat chose one of the cheaper Cave boards. But thankful it wasn't DDP DOJ BL.

Yeah, it should be possible. All you need is someone to dump the rom and the right chip to write it to.

Something's gotta be done about that cat.

I saw these people on the train once, they had these fold-up cardboard boxes with cats inside, but it looked more like the kind of box you would put doughnuts inside, or fried chicken.

I suggest you put your cat in a box like that. And leave it somewhere far away from your PCB collection.

Store your PCBs properly in individual boxes. Problem solved.

This is what worries me about getting into pcbs, I break or spill shit over nearly everthing I own and I don't even have a pet.

Storing arcade PCBs in individual boxes is just plain common sense, especially for your rare and mucho expensive arcade PCBs such DDP-DOJ BL ver., Ibara BL ver., etc.

Just be sure to have adequate layer of bubble wrap as a cushion between the PCB (and if possible, use anti-static poly bags for your PCBs)..... ^_~

sucks about the board, but I'm kinda surprised you let felines crawl all over your gaming goods.

hehe you guys are making me sound bad! :P

i take great care of my stuff and keep it boxed away from animals and sunlight and all usually, just this once i was fiddling with 5 pcbs at once and laid it to rest bare on the shelf temporarily, and ofcourse thats when cats strike ;)

at the moment i was actually holding my mushihimesama PCB, in retrospect boy am i glad i decided to work with that first instead of my espgaluda one..

Cats are bastards, they know what is important to you and they like to sit/lay on whatever said object is. If its a beer, they want to knock it over. If it is a book, they want to sleep on it. My cat hasn't destroyed any of my video games yet, but perhaps this only betrays that beer and books are more important to me than video games. If my frothing demand for ikaruga increased, I'm sure my cat would pee on it.

Heh heh, ne'er were truer words spoken. Which is why I keep my games and such out of my cat's reach.

Ouch. Damn cat! Glad you're not totally SOL though.

The room I keep all my game stuff in is OFF LIMITS to any dogs or cats. I'd hate to see my Ketsui PCB being dumped in this sense of the word. It's in the original box and anti-static wrap with the rest of the kit, and goes back in when I'm not playing it.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
