Cotton 100%

Post by JJG »

I just got a complete copy of Cotton 100% and one of the things in the box was a little mini cd that looks about the size of a gamecube game. Does anyone know what this cd is for and what it has on it?

Yeah, it's probably just a mini audio CD. They were developed originally for CD singles, but I think the economy of scale curve dropped so fast on the full size CD format that it was never more cost-effective to use the smaller ones, even for two or three songs.

I know that the Saturn version of Sonic Wings Special (in the double-case) includes a 3-inch CD with 3 musical tracks.

I just got Cotton 100% for the PlayStation recently and am wanting to know some things:

What are the difference (if any) to the Super Famicom version - like graphics, and any addition content?
Playing this and then jumping to the Turbo Duo Cotton (1), the Duo game seems to have better graphics?

Is there no memory card support? I have to set my buttons every time, scores do not save and I cannot find any save/load options?

Is their any interest in playing for score in this game? - there is no hi score thread

I like this game alot!
It is however easy compare to Cotton 1.

Cotton 100% ey? I've read on the wiki that there was a limited edition tea cup that came with it. Is it true?

Most Cotton games had one (or more) special limited edition teacup(s) that went with it for preorders.

Here's some Japanese dude showing off his collection:

@Sonic R - I haven't played the SFC version of this, but to the best of my knowledge the PS1 version is pretty much just a straight port of it (IIRC it was a "superlite" title)...seeing as no SNES shooter I know of saves scores, I imagine the same thing applies to the PS1 version.

I think Cotton 100% did save some settings.

A lot of independent record labels still use 3 inch cd's. They only fit on 18 minutes of audio, but they're very cute.
