RQ: Explain the 100,000pt medal in Viper Phase 1 - INH DVD

I'm getting exceedingly frustrated

In the INH dvd of Viper Phase 1, during 1-1 there is a hidden medal that reveals itself when you allow the platform to scroll up the screen and then return back down. (just before the two large ships come down in a pair)

I'm able to get this to work on my PCB, but the medal only ever gives me 30,000 pts...

On the INH dvd it gives 100,000 and I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong...

anyone familiar with this game have any ideas?

Another frustrating thing is how the player ship speed on the INH dvd seems slightly faster, I'm not sure if I'm going crazy or maybe it's just some framerate error from converting or capturing the gameplay footage...

Like Raiden DX, you have to wait until the Medal flashes at it's brightest for it to be worth it's maximum value.

Can't comment on the speed of the ship however. Seems the same to me.

ahhhh!! thank you. I hadn't even considered the flashing to be part of it..

About the ship speed, it was just the up direction that seemed different to me in a few spots, it might actually just be my dvd software skipping and syncing back up.
