Yeah, completion of stages is the requirement. You cleared this game with a DualShock??nZero wrote:I've cleared the PS2 version with a DualShock (1) and I've been to Lv6 using the keyboard on the PC version (since my gamepad randomly changes ID on every reboot). I wouldn't blame the controller.
Superplay is the second option under the Replay & Gallery entry from the main menu. It's broken into stages, I forget the unlock criteria but it's probably completion of the stage or previous stage.

If the game doesn't use the presure sensitivity thing, you can use a Dualshock 1 without any problems.
Actually, if the game doesn't force on using analog controls, you can even use a non-dualshock PS1 pad. That's how my arcade control is built (from a PS1 digital pad), and it works well with every shmup and brawler I have so far.

For those playing the PC version, is there any way to configure the keyboard controls? I personally dislike controlling movement with my right hand (arrow keys)...
EDIT
Nevermind, figured it out

I have another one that's basically identical to this one, but the colors are reversed (Start and Select are yellow, main buttons are blue)
sorry for the shitty picture, This was taken with a webcam, as I have no digital camera here with me

Been playing the PC version with my 2P X-Arcade stick and I thought it was the transition from Dualshock (with PC adapter) to a proper stick that made the Raiden III ship sluggish. . . .well, maybe not !!
Although, I must admit that the X-Arcade stick seems to have a lot more travel than a gamepad which makes control of ANY ship seem slow.
Anybody else had plenty of experience with the X-Arcade ???

Crack that puppy open and adjust the actuators on the microswitches. You can adjust it so that all you have to do is switch. They're knockoff Happ Supers, so if you really want an improvement you'll have to switch sticks. If you're worried about throw and such, pick up a Mag-Stick and adaptor plate.kennyrh wrote:Been playing the PC version with my 2P X-Arcade stick and I thought it was the transition from Dualshock (with PC adapter) to a proper stick that made the Raiden III ship sluggish. . . .well, maybe not !!
