I hope for a 360 or PS3 port... if the PS2 or DC could do a arcade perfect port, sure. I just want a accurate port is all.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I'm sure the PS2 can handle it if they do some decent work. The PS2 can handle stuff much better looking than this.

I thought a 360 port was already announced but that could have just been a rumor.

I'm voting for DC or PS3. I wonder if this game would end up at retail or on the PSN / XBLA.

The problem with 360 and PS3 ports could be that there's a high possibility of them lacking Tate mode. Didn't MS already say that there'll be no tate in XBLA games? Probably the same with full priced ones.
PS3? Well, expensive to develop for and the userbase right now is hardly worth it.
Businesswise a PS2 port would make perfect sense though it seems they cranked up the details quite a bit which probably won't result in an arcade perfect port.
Voting for a PC port means voting for the most realistic and accurate port of them all. Seriously

Edit: Which one of the two buttons is the "send it/vote" one? I clicked on the left...hope it was the right one  Anybody having problems with the questions - use the google translator P_Hat posted.

Same here, even that translating link does me no good, prolly cuz I don't have any japanese language fonts installed.

Anyone care to dissect the questions so more people can vote.

yeah but i think that all applies to the US... if it were released on 360 in japan I don't think those rules would really apply.

Awesome!!!
I'm just glad that I, a Canadian, got the chance to tell these guys at Moss my 2cents. More Shmup developers should do this, so they could see how many people outside of asia still give a damn about this genre.

I must say THANKS A MILLION Necronom and incognoscente!!!

Does it actually say that?

Also, I really hope that you don't mind my posting links to your translation images in that Joystiq article. I thought that they worked really well, but it occurred to me only after I posted that I should've asked for permission first. I don't think that I can edit it.

Just had a quick look at the specifications of Taito Type X, the arcade game system Raiden III and IV are running on. Didn't know that the system has an embedded Windows XP. Considering this fact and the standard PC components used, I wouldn't even call a PC version a "port"...more like "optimization" with a new menu screen including some options and stuff. Guess the PC version is pretty much a sure thing.

With Last Hope being pressed on CD for the DC release, is the GD-ROM thing even an issue? I'm not sure how big Raiden 4 is, but I've seen some impressive stuff crammed into less than CD-R capacity.

Officially released DC games are ONLY printed on GD-ROMs. That is a requirement from Sega themselves, and MOSS aren't a doujin circle. Anything they release is going to be licensed.

Hehe, yeah...something like this. Would love to see a budget priced PC release in Europe like the PS2 one.

Exactly. Moss wouldn't be doing themselves a favour by going the other route. It just doesn't make sense at all to see fit a Dreamcast release.

Another large point to consider is the platform it's being ported from. Who can name the last non-Naomi based port to Dreamcast, I wouldn't even know where to start.

Voted DC just for the pure insanity that it was offered, and PS2 because I'm confident a perfect port could come of it. *-neo

Probably KOF 2002 (MVS)... which was first released on DC in June of 2003 (it had a Dori Kore re-release in 04). I'm pretty sure every DC release after that was either developed on the home console or was a NAOMI port.

Although, if you throw in PC ports, then stuff like Baldr Force EXE (released in October of 2004) come in even later. Since the Type-X is a glorified PC, I guess this isn't too far fetched.

Three new Raiden IV vids are up on this Japanese site:

http://www.sepia.dti.ne.jp/poorgamer/movie.htm

The first one is a complete stage 1 vid (2.9mil). The other two sound like they are Stage 4 and Stage 5 boss vids.

Yeah, the x5.0 multipliers are a nice addition. The game looks really cool. Much better than Raiden III. I'm looking forward to playing some port of this in the near future.

Looks excellent; the boss explosions in particular look a lot more elaborate! :D

However, if the ship is even slower, or at about the same speed, as the ship in Raiden III, I don't understand how the player in the first video is able to move the ship around so quickly-and it isn't even the 2nd player ship. :?

Looks terrific, what sense of speed and the framerate is real easy on the eyes. I'm not crazy about 5.0x, since it allows much greater margin of error and obviously greater difference in scores. Maybe I'm looking at that the wrong way but it's probably not bad.
What's interesting is what appears to be a 'charging' element to the secondary weapons. It's very curious.
