Tell me about it! I'm tryin to not even think about playing layer section, raiden project or ring of red(hope that turns out to be a good game). Plus its hard enoughfinding the time to play games anyway. Still cant wait to try and improve on my score :D

Hm, should there be a separate table for the PSX version? I think that one's supposed to have a load more slowdown in it...

I'll change it if more people start posting scores, as theres only two scores at the moment is there really any point? I'll definetly consider it if more scores are submitted anyway

I've only noticed slowdown on the 3rd level on this part when we kinda touch down onto the ground, and there are barely any bad guys around on that part. never noticed any slowdown during any bosses or during the other levels. i really dont see why everyone is do against the PSX version. maybe it's saturn fanboyism?

Grab yourself a free image hosting account (photobucket.com works pretty well), upload the image there, and then link to it here using "img" code in your post. In any case, that's a pretty nice score.

"Soukyugurentai!"
"Gesundheit!"

BulletMagnet - 5,205,060 - 1-5 - Swordfish - Saturn

It's really odd how I tend to get farther in Raizing games when I disregard the rank...

Yellow ship? isnt that an extra ship in the ps version? Av no idea what its called either!

Also got an updated score myself

9,313,270 I'm gettin a little bit further in stage 6 each time, It eats up my lives rapid that level.

Buha, I find the level 5 boss much easier than the level 3 and 4 boss, for the form i find it quite safe just doing a figure of eight whilst constantly locking on to avoid the missiles, then just traversing back and forth along the baseline to avoid the turret fire(whilst still locking on). In the second form its best to take it down as quickly as possible.

just to clarify something, the psx version is in fact 2 versions.

one you play normally, the second you press select at the title screen, it will open a menu, and you choose the third option, it will slightly change the screen size.

if you do that, the CG intro will be gone, replaced by a kickass 2d animation, you will have another opening sequence when you start the game where you see your ship takeoff, and the woman's voice, along with the CG sequences after each stage, will be gone. also, the extra psx slow ass ship will not be here, you can only play as the young guy and the 2 chicks.
why am i mentionning this? because doing this will make the game BRUTAL. the normal game is a joke compared to this, every bullet is faster, ennemies take a LOT more shots to die (this is where you will startr to love your web weapon) and IMO, the game is much more interesting to play this way.

as for the slowdowwn, frankly there isnt that much in the psx version apart from stage 3 where you descend on the ground (and its not a hard phase to begin with, so slowdown doesnt make things easier)

i am guessing, since when you imput that option, the game has an arcade design (no CG, no voice) and the extra psx ship is gone, that this one is based off the STV version, dont know about saturn, but that may be partially the reason people are bashing the psx version, what do you think?

ive been thinking about getting the sat version, but if the "original" mode of the psx is simmilar to either the stv or sat version, i might as well buy this one again.

So basically, explain it to me as if I was an idiot. :D
Or just answer my question: if I have the ps-version and can choose between a game that is hard-as-nipples or the other one, which one do I choose when I want to play on the same terms as saturn players?

as for the yellow ship:

this is the first time i've heard that it was a special PSX ship. this is the only version of the game i've played, so you guys are probably right. :? as for the difficulty, in the options menu it's on 4 out of 8, which i thought is the general arcade default for shootemups.

correct me if i'm wrong, though! i want to play on equal ground with everybody else. the game seems plenty hard to me, though!

The default difficulty is 4 which is what I'm playing on also, the actuall arcade difficulty is 5 from what ive heard elsewhere.

so the sat version is not the hard one? thanks, i guess psx version > sat one then, at least for me.
yes, i am a masochist.

i would like imput from someone that has played (and preferably, owns) both versions, tho.

so is it okay for me to use the yellow ship? or should i choose between the original 3? i just picked the yellow one because i liked the speed and his web got lots of hits.

the "other" version on the PSX one is WAY harder. the 1st level wasn't so bad, but the boss took so many more hits than usual. it was nuts.

Only someone who has played both could answer that question, just do what you thinks right!

I probably wouldnt use the yellow ship... as for which version is harder.... no idea

im thinking that the yellow ship should be off limits, but since both versions are difficulty 4, i think it's more than likely that they're equal in difficulty, unless you play on the crazy mode

Just out of curiosity, but are you guys playing this on difficulty level 5? Default settings are on level four, but the actual arcade difficulty is set to five.

I'n any case, I'll pop my score up some time soon. Haven't played it for a while, kinda redeveloping my taste for Raizing shmups after a break on Technosoft.

You're supposed to be playing on 5, which is the AC difficulty. 4 is the default.

At least thats how it was on the previous score board.

Ok, then it seems that I always played the crazy mode which I thought was so hard-as-nipples stone cold fucking crazy that I sold the game. The "first" mode was then again so easy that it's hard to believe after playing the hard version. Would explain why everyone has a better score than me though.

Perhaps I'll buy the satversion next time.

all i know is that i owned the game for more than 2 years and i could never ever get past stage 5 (and that was exceptionnal, pretty much all my games ended at stage 4 after the crazy ass mofo third stage boss od doom took all my lives &é"'&é"')
yes, the extra(?) version is crazy.

what i find funny tho is how much people bash the PSX version, and how almost no one played both.
