the ship's nice, i'll say that, nothing else.Ceph wrote:The overall feeling of the graphics are Thunder Force-ish. Good to see Garow making progress, no matter how slow it is. The video and some of the 3D models of the enemy ships are giving off an "updated TFIV" vibe, the stage in particular is reminiscent of Strite, which can only be a good thing (since TFIV is the best in the series).
Wonder if Gargoyle will be making an appearance in this Strite-inspired stage...?

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Hi fellow shmuppers:
After watching the level 5 video on youtube, I realize that Broken Thunder can actually be rescued from the mess it's in now. Overall, the game's bullet pattern is not too bad, and has the bit of thunder force feel to it. What makes me hate this game is its poor presentation. The bosses have no animations to them. None of the joints of the bosses move independently They feel, blocky. They might as well be static sprites instead of 3D models that they seem to be.

Broken Thunder only had their pre-rendered movies going for it. Thunder Future's pics show actual in-game models. Again, let's give Garow the benefit of the doubt. I am sure they were watchful of the Broken Thunder disaster (Like Makopico said, Japanese players were very disgusted with it.), and will be wise enough not to make the same mistake if they want to earn money with their game.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

Werd. Thunder Future has potential, we should not let this Broken Penis lead us into shunning doujin TF. If Thunder Future sucks though, let no man attempt to replicate the Thunder Force splender again.

Can someone tell me what this is all about?
Something with it being pulled from the store shelves or something?
(Bablefish translation doesn't help much).

This game looks like shit compared to the rest of the series. I just watched all of the youtube vids on it. I'm fucking flabbergasted! It looks fan made. I can't believe Factory Noise AG had anything to do with it. Even the music (which is fantastic by the way) doesn't fit well with the games slow pace and cheap looking backgrounds. I'm really at a loss here.

You know, I can't say that Thunder Future looks worse or even as bad as Broken Thunder. It doesn't. But all I am seeing is a 3D remake of Thunder Force IV. And that, while "cool" in one way, is not "the true successor" in every other way, either. They should really turn up the originality if they hope to capture a fraction of Technosoft's appeal.Icarus wrote:Good to see Garow making progress, no matter how slow it is. Finally, someone gets it. This is also the same reason 99% of modern shooters are RUBBISH. Unless you enjoy bullet hell. I don't.BrianC wrote:The first two levels look kind of bland to me, telling from vids. Where are all the obstacles?
This is the same reason I rate TF3 over 4: three of the first four levels in TF4 are completely devoid of obstacles. You just fly around and shoot enemies. This is the problem with nearly all modern shooters: no-one bothers to DESIGN LEVELS any more. Half the challenge of TF3 is having to maneuver around sheets of ice, rock, metal ship hulls etc. The latter stages of TF4 have this as well, and are infinitely more interesting than Strite, for example.
As for Broken Thunder... all interest died when I saw the stage 1 video. Bask in the emptiness! Even the soundtrack sounds like more of the same TF5-style metal, which is starting to get a bit old.
R.I.P. Technosoft.

Babelfish does say something about "temporary sale stop". It seems they are pulling it from shelves. What's this I see about "the news of update"? Sounds to me like they could be updating the game.Super Laydock wrote:Can someone tell me what this is all about?

If they do update it, those who had paid good money had better receive the updates for free. I don't recommend buying BT unless you can get the Limited Edition which has the soundtrack CD.
I'm starting to get away from using the word "gameplay" when talking about games. Here's an article on insomnia.ac I found interesting.Babelfish wrote: BROKEN THUNDER (the broken thunder), with and others the hole 1 it went out from the store. As for having lined up music CD of the same name
Because it becomestemporary sale stop,

Broken Thunder's control is just fine, but something is missing in the enemy patterns, level design, and boring repetitive backgrounds.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

That's absolutely not true. I would even say that the complete opposite is the case. Guwange, Ikaruga, Gradius V, R-Type Final...hell even semi-professional stuff like Steel Saviour and the upcoming DS title Nanostry2 have well designed levels with many obstacles. And even if it doesn't come with lots of obstacles, Under Defeat's level design is a work of genius. Erm...btw, welcome to the forum, chischis;-)This is the problem with nearly all modern shooters: no-one bothers to DESIGN LEVELS any more.
Anyway, so did any one figure out what's up with this "pulled from the shelves" thing Super Laydock has mentioned? Could be interesting...

As far as I understand it they are only fixing something about the game's text, and nothing else.gameoverDude wrote:Sounds to me like they could be updating the game.
Probably not a good idea to pull it from the shelves and issue a reprint, because now that the word is out this stinker won't sell very well the second time around.

I wonder what the note in next to the BT games sais... "THIS GAME IS CRAP DON'T BUY IT!" And after this a pretty long explanation why it sucks

If Broken Thunder looked like this, I'd be all over it.

And what the hell. On the bottom of that page, it says that Garow is one of the Broken thunder staff.

I think it's the character design that delnds itself to the "doujin" feel. They're just to "galge" for my tastes and reminds me of those Type-Moon hentai games...
On the shooter side, Can you run the game at lower resolutions to compensate for any potential framerate problems? Alter Either nearly killed me with it's default resolution.
