Looking forward to getting my hands on this (or trying to anyway).

Loved the soundtrack to the original.

Yes that is correct. You may need to download an active-x control and some software to download the file.

Is there a special reason why the passwords to download the videos are given in the form of riddles?

It may be to keep out non-japanese downloaders. Instead of outright blocking IP addresses like other Japanese have done with their video downloads, at least this Tsumanne guy gives foreigners who can read Japanese a chance.

Either that, or the guy just likes riddles.

Some new Ultra videos are up.

You can find them here. Click on the second-from-the-left bar that says 10MB~50MB files. The files you want are up0928 for stage 4, up0918 for stage 2, and up0916 for stage 1.

They're pretty excellent although the player seems to have fiddled with the extends (edit: he says on his blog that he set them at every 80m). I guess that partly explains the great 2B+ score at the top of the screen.

Well he didn't fiddle with them personally, he's just playing at an arcade that has a machine setup for Ultra extends at every 80mil. This seems to be getting more and more popular, and scoring competitions are popping up in Japan specifically for the 80mil extend Ultra mode.

For a player like me, who considers getting up to the 5th level mid boss on one credit in Original (as I did for the first time yesterday) a feat, those videos are jaw dropping.

Just saw the complete Ultra mode TLB 1 and TLB 2 boss fights. TLB 1 is similar in bullet patterns to Mushi's TLB, but has parts where the bullets are as fast as Doom. The TLB 2 (third form of Lharsa) is basically just the final pattern of the Manic mode Stage 2 squid boss, but about 5 times as many bullets and a bit faster (also looks similar to Seseri's final pattern in Galuda 2). There is only one lifebar on it too, no breaks at all.

You can't do any bomb damage on TLB 1 or TLB 2 either! Hardest shit ever.

What's that ultra torrent? TLB stuff? My connection is so slow that I need to know before downloading :?

Edit: ok, gotcha. I'll get it :)
Edit2: no, it's random stuff. Where is this TLB vid?

It's a camcorder vid of a Chinese guy, he gets to the very end of the TLB 2 fight. Extends were set at every 80mil. 222MB avi file, no torrent, just a download. Got it via this thread:

It looks like an ultra clear video has been posted to everyone's favorite torrent site. The file is a whopping 1.15GB though. I've downloaded enough to watch the first 19 seconds, and the video is a camcorder rip. The quality is really good though.

Edit: Nevermind, I can only watch parts of the video due to not having the whole thing downloaded, but it is clear that the player uses a ton of continues. No TLB action this time. :(

The 1.15 gig video seems to be someone who has never played ultra mode before, credit feeding through game. Download it only if you like that sort of thing.

You can actually see holes in the bullets this time around. Still, it looks pretty crazy.
