Yeah, I pre-ordered it. For the good of the community and all that.

Um, that doesn't look like $23.50 and $44 to me. And considering I'd have to pay $19 for EMS shipping (which means it'd be shipped from Japan), that's a fuck of a mark up.

Do I really wanna pay 65 bucks plus EMS shipping, for a game that might or might not be good at all?

I´d wait on preordering this at Himeya for now, as there might just be a better alternative for ordering this soon...

I just hope someone else is going to offer this game. That's a hell of a price increase over what's already been written. I went from expecting to spend around $30-$35 for the regular edition with overseas shipping, to haivng the game placed out of my reach at nearly $60. That's retardedly ridiculous, and frankly, it hurts considering how much of a TF fan I am.

I'd like to order what ever it is......
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Thanks for the heads-up! I was just about to jump onto the ship with Ghegs, although it would throw my future Radirgy purchase onto the back burner.

I might still; The price seems reasonable to me, and unless a truly better alternative shows up soon (the release is not too far away!), the only alternative would be errand services, which are about the same price.

(Then again, the "USD 19.00 + 3.00 additional" shipping scheme seems to encourage a multi-item shopping list; I was trying to figure out what else I could get, but they don't have anything that I've been looking for.)

The way it is now it's even more expensive than Last Hope. Not so sure how "reasonable" that is for a homebrew that may very well turn out to be sucktacular. Keep in mind that there are several doujin shooters which are actually good and cost less, for instance the Touhou Project games.

Damn, it had to be a PC game. So much for me and my powerbook. I'm crossing my fingers that they produce at least an "unofficial" dreamcast version.

Has it been confirmed anywhere that members of Technosoft worked on this? If so, it would be worth the price, but if they just licensed the TF name out, color me uninterested.

Very good point. Is that what the "Retail Price: Open Price" mention is about, on the Himeya Shop product page? They've essentially made it almost the same price as the Last Hope SE and LE, but their shipping policy brings it to the next level.

Last Hope was fortunately available without having to go through errand services, but with Broken Thunder, it's those or Himeya Shop (at this point). Given that it would cost about the same with either method, I can wish that it was less at Himeya shop but there's not much else that I can do about it.

I'm nonetheless pretty convinced about this game for some reason. (Indeed, it's still definitely a lot of money on the line.)

I agree that both of those are very nice, but, they are also of a different style than this game and Last Hope. I feel that I would most appreciate this game out of these four in question, which I suppose is another reason that I feel that the price seems reasonable.

I think that it's unconfirmed at this point, but I also... am not very familiar with Techno Soft.

(But I will be soon, whether or not I buy this game.)

Broken Thunder appears to be a tribute shmup to TS, dave.

It's like a tribute band; plays the same songs but the originals aren't there.

I am not at ALL unto cute-em up (see my old topics  , I really only like bad ass space shooters like Gradius V etc...), but for Doujin game the Sutdio SiestA games are one of the bests.

No I already posted the name of some guys working on the game, they have nothing to do with Technosoft.

I wonder why they never even released a 1 or 2-level downloadable demo. Are they hoping fanboyism and name recognition sell this, rather than good game design? My "Last Hope Sense" is tingling.

Ugh..... I hope this doesn't turn out like Last hope.

this year sucks for shooters.... everything is so uncertain and quility wise the best we had to look for was karas and trigger heart and that wasn't much.

I wouldn't be so sure just yet. who knows? something might just come outta the blue that rocks more than all the crap we've been seeing. Still, there's still hope that Broken Thunder turns out okay.

Thank goodness for Himeya. I've got my LE preorder in as well. In this case I am ready to take one for the team if need be. Hopefully it's at least good and it will turn out that the pictures hardly do it justice.

For those interested, Yakumo from Segagadomain is willing to preorder the game for anyone who´s interested as well.

Both regular and Limited edition can be ordered through him.
I´ve actually lost the mail with the prices, and am not sure about the price for the LE anymore, but if interested then you should mail him I guess.
(His email address can be found at his website)
I´ve personally gone for the regular edition, which cost 39 Euro including airmail shipping (which saves you a few bucks due to the possibility of airmail usage, which Himeya hasn´t).

Please note he has not advertised this at his site and is just offering this as a service for people who want to get the game. Mail him if interested.

Having dealt with him quite often, I can vouch for his reliability and good service (as I am sure many others here can).

Please note: he will NOT take any returns on this, even if you can´t get it to work on your PC!!!

HI everyone,

I know I hardly ever post here at Shumps so please don't take this the wrong way when I offer my services. I'm not doing this to make a load of cash from you guys :D

Here are the prices I'm doing Broken Thunder for.

Special Edition = 62 Euros (postage by airmail included)
Normal Edition = 39 Euros (postage by airmail included)

I can offer EMS shipping for an extra 10 Euros for the Normal Edition or 15 Euros for the Special Edition.

As Super Laydock has mentioned he's ordered his Normal Edition from me. I must stress though that with the airmail option there is NO insurance at all so if it goes missing then I'M afraid that's tough luck. I'm a very trustworthy guy and have been doing this sort of think for the Dreamcast for years now so there's no need to worry about me taking your cash then not sending anything. Feel free to ask about my reliability at NTSC-UK.com (Retro section), dreamcastshistory.com or assemblergames.com

Also please note that I can not do any refund or exchange if this game won't run on your PC. That is something you must be sure of before ordering.

PC Specs from the official site are:

Media :DVD-ROM
OS :Windows2000/XP
CPU :Pentium4-1.6GHz upwards
Memory :256MB upwards
Resolution :640x480 High colour and upwards
VGA :VRAM32MB upwards AGP or PCI-Express video card
Sound :DirectSound compatable
Direct X :DirectX9.0c upwards
Others :DirectInput controller (probably standard USB controller it means)

My mail address if you'd like to get in touch is mes1975 (AT) poppy.ocn.ne.jp

Well, it's good that there are options...still, Himeya's slightly cheaper. I'm paying 62 EUR for my LE as it is, but that's with EMS shipping included.

But I just noticed Himeya doesn't carry LE anymore, which I guess means they've filled their pre-order slots for it.

That's exactly what I wanted with Last Hope. I loved the fact that Alfa Systems had a demo for Shiki 2.

But at least some in-game footage would help.

Yeah, you´re correct about that LE being cheaper through Himeya.
If people want the regular edition they can save about $6 this way though.

And though it´s not insured and all, Japanese mail has only failed me once in about a hundred packages and is always very fast.
