I think there's 30 stages in all with ~10 million points possible. Lots of secrets to find for sure.

I know Rando has beaten the game but it's rock fuckin hard to me. I sold my board but play the rom from time to time.

So very frustrated with the above score. I was so close to getting 2 mil, but a lousy tank got a cheap shot through. I even had bombs left. A few more hits and I would have gotten an extend too. GRRRRR! :evil:

Yeah, 30 stages, (I tried a run through with multiple credits.) and fairly boss heavy near the end. It's a tough one for sure.

Here's a question: Does anyone know about the purple power-up helicopters that appear from time to time? When destroyed, they leave behind 2 purple circles that can be attached to your smart pods. Can't for the life of me work out what they're good for though.

The waves that the purple ships emit when destroyed disable your pods temporarily, at least when playing with fixed mode.

EDIT:- This was after 2 days of play before 19XX was chosen for STGT08 instead. I must get back to this and notch up an ALL. Not concerned about a big score, just an ALL.
