Insanity?
How do you know when you are going insane?
My fucking brain hurts. "but the brain doesn't feel pain" yeah well mine does.
Not looking for sympathy, intervention, or making a joke/April fools.

Specineff: posting the picture is fine, unless it's under false pretenses. That's why April Fools annoys me.
I'd love it, though, if people were to go around spouting (from memory here) :
So this guy's in a bar and he catches the eye of this gorgeous lady. I can't remember what she looked like (hair color, ethnicity, measurements), but she was gorgeous. That's the important part.
So this guy, then, he looks over at her, then looks back at his drink. I can't remember what he was drinking. It's probably not too important. I'll probably never be a respected writer for leaving out these kinds of details, but my memory is foggy.
So he finishes his drink and looks back at the girl. She keeps his gaze, stands up, and walks to him, wagging the right parts in the right ways. She leans in close to him and says, "I'll do anything, no matter how dirty, for $100."
"Oh, really?"
"But there's a catch. You have to say it in only three words."
The man's face lights up as he considers the possibilities. reverse cowgirl... or kama sutra... or with friends... then his mind is made up.
"Paint my house."
Or whatever joke they like best. It doesn't even have to be dirty. But if it is dirty, then I'll actually remember it. ;(

Nah, just the megalomanic ones. Those who notice are just more bound to fight their disease.Bydo Dragon wrote:Chances are that if you're worried about going insane, you probably aren't going insane.
Usually insane people are convinced they're 100% sane.

Re: Insanity?
Well, there can be no 1 objective description of sane (well only really abstract ones). Who says someone's insane and who gives them that authority!?thesuperkillerxxx wrote:How do you know when you are going insane?

As for your head hurting, are your sure it isn't something physical? I sometimetime too have short moments of time (like say a few days) where I feel like something is stinging in my mind. No headache but very much different, I've often thought it to be something to do with an artery being closed off or something, not letting enough blood through...
If I were you i'd go to a doctor first and explain the situation, as it may not be psychological but physical (though I am no expert of this, I am fearing a brainseizure all my life now...).
Like the others above said before as long as you would be are of yourself going "insane", you aren't insane as far as I am concerned and perfectly capable of judging your own situation.

Re: Insanity?
I've worked with people who have had mental health issues (schizophrenia, bi-polar, sociopath etc) for years now, and as has been mentioned before, people who have mental health issues are USUALLY unaware of it. It's usually their loved ones and friends that notice.thesuperkillerxxx wrote:How do you know when you are going insane?

I don't know in what way "Your brain hurts", however if it's a physical pain that keeps persisting you should go to your doctor. Not to distress you or anything but you may have to get a scan, just to eliminate any serious problems. If it isn't pain and you find that you can actually "hear" stuff, or that it's your thoughts that makes your brain hurt AGAIN a visit to your doctor can help.
**edit**
I just read your post again saying you weren't looking for intervention, so what i've said is reduntant, and you were probably just having a moan. But if it's serious man, go to the doctor, ok?

Hee. Note the terms "probably" and "usually"... But basically true, yes.Nuke wrote:Nah, just the megalomanic ones. Those who notice are just more bound to fight their disease.Bydo Dragon wrote:Chances are that if you're worried about going insane, you probably aren't going insane.

Too, I think the definition of "sane" is pretty subjective...as long as you are reasonably self-actualized and feel basically comfortable with living, who cares if you're sane or not anyway? XD
