there's a thought. one of the soundtracks had the final boss song named "Hyper Duel". perhaps that was taken literally?LSU wrote:The mechs also reminded me a little bit of the Hyper Duel transformed ships, which in itself was quite exciting.

By the way, if this ends up just being an early internet April Fool's prank, it will NOT be funny at all.

Absolute Area is the rerelease of of the Hyper Duel Arranged soundtrack from the original composer. Broken Thunder was the TFVI soundtrack. I have Broken Thunder and the only ships on the cover are the Gauntlet, Vambrace and Fire Leo. The mech on the cover of the Absolute Area soundtrack is the BG-01G Storm Forgel.HeWhoGoverns wrote:On the cover of the Absolute Area TFVI OST, there is a mech that looks like it was taken directly from Hyper Duel. I wouldn't be surprised if they are taking a lot of influence from Hyper Duel, it was a great game AND it was by Technosoft.

There are five ships on the cover. Three of them are Styx (TF3), Vambrace (TFV), Gauntlet (TFV), and two others that I'm not entirely certain of (not sure if either of them is from TF4, as they don't quite look like Rynex color-wise... but the one by the logo looks the most like it).Thunder Force wrote:There's a small Rynex ship on the Broken Thunder cover too, located next to the title logo.Icarus wrote:I have Broken Thunder and the only ships on the cover are the Gauntlet, Vambrace and Fire Leo.
i got ahold of one of those preview discs.... should show up in about a week or so.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

No kidding, it would sell like hotcakes. Let's hope that Factory Noise & A.G are sensible peopleYakumo on his site wrote:It's quite possible that it may head to the Dreamcast since that was the system it was originally intended for plus every shooter released on the Dreamcast to date including Trigger Heart (Feb 2007) and Karasu (March 2007) have sold extremely well. A well known and loved series such as Thunder Force could easily be the biggest selling shooter on the Dreamcast to date as long as they got it right.

Fire-Leo-05P Syrinx (the new TF6 concept ship) is to the left of the Gauntlet. The Coop wrote:There are five ships on the cover. Broken Thunder / Thunder Force VI can be a PC/X360/PS3 game for all I care, as long as it sees the light of release ^__^neoalphazero wrote:As cool as a DC release would be, 99.9 % chance this is a PC game. Sure the game could sell well but there's a list of reasons why it wouldn't come to the system. *-neo
I'd like to see another Thunder Force AC. It's been a while since there's been a horizontal on the arcade scene (although Konami seems to be making up for their Gradius V mistake with Otomedius)
Plus if it hit NAOMI, all of the raving Dreamcast-will-never-die folks could see a glimmer of hope
Wonder how far along the codebase and stuff for the TFVI project got, anyway.
Now if you'll excuse me, my PS2 has a date with a screwdriver... anyone know if the V12 and V15 laser units are interchangable?

Widescreen horizontal, anyone?X360/PS3 game

True, but there's still that .01% chance, considering other PC doujin(-esque) titles have made the leap to the Dreamcast.neoalphazero wrote:As cool as a DC release would be, 99.9 % chance this is a PC game. Not sure if that's entirely helpful, but at the same time I can tell you there's no such thing as a V.15. I don't believe V.12 & V.14 are compatible though.

Neat site, thanks. Turns out no transplant was needed anyway. If there's no V15, then what's the SCPH-77001? Different p/n for a silver v14 or something?Limbrooke wrote:Not sure if that's entirely helpful, but at the same time I can tell you there's no such thing as a V.15. I never realized there was something wrong with Gradius 5....making up for their Gradius V mistake

there is nothing about it that is Gradius other than the cores and Vic Viper. you essentially play through a generic shooter with very bland attempts at asteroids and the key bio-level of the series. there wasn't a single thing past the 3rd level that didn't cause you to say "...what the hell is this?!" Go play Gaiden and tell me you don't see what kind of a debauchery there was of the key elements of the series.Strider77 wrote:nope... it wasn't. one of the best shooters to come out in quite awhile.
