another homebrew shmup... by me! :D

Post by Squirrelsquid »

Hi, I'm new here, and I am creating a shmup called Havoc Zone.
It's coded in Multimedia Fusion, because I can't program for gods sake.
The current version is pretty large (because of music in .wav format), I'll release a much smaller version in about 2 Weeks, still I wanted to share this version.

Version Features:
13 Enemies, 6 weapon systems, chain-system, Ingame Help,
completely original graphics and Music.

here are some screenshots:

Download the large version with 3 Music-scores, or the
small version, with just the level-music.

Large version: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NQ0840U0
About 160 mb (sorry for the lame host)

Small version: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MN1WE6J7
About 100 mb (sorry for the lame host, again)

I recommend the large version, but if you'r connection
is slow,I advise you to download the small version.

HAVOC ZONE is a hardcore shmup, the game is meant to
be hard. It is possible to play perfectly without
additional weapon systems, though.

there are still some features missing, like a
boss-fight, ranking system and a logbook that
keeps track of variouse aspects of the game,
but this version is functional and fun.

Feedback apreciated!

I found it very inspiring!
The only reason I can think of for no other comments is that it's difficult to download lol :)
I'm not very familiar with the genre (anime etc), but everything is very consistent. Graphics, sounds, music.. all on the same line.
I only wish the gamespeed wouldn't fluctuate so much when playing, but maybe that's just my computer :)
One minute it's all going easy, flying beautifully through the landscapes..
Then, all of a sudden, 'someone' pressed the *Turbo* button and the thingy starts flying like mad lol -- I didn't survive long after that! :)
That turbo speed is probably what you intended for to be the 'normal' speed :D
