RQ: Gigawing Extend

Post by GaijinPunch »

I've triggered an extend on stage 4 (playing as Isha... the blue chic) but for the love of God I have no idea how i did it.

EDIT: I see it's only triggerable if you die. How shitty.

  • Lose at least one life before the orb pattern on Stage 4
  • Shoot all of the smaller orbs on the outside of the pattern, and then shoot the orb located in the middle
  • Grab the extend, and then the largest medals in the game (they only appear at this point)

True, but if you're like some players who suicide right off the bat to control the rank, then this does come in handy.

The thing is, it's still the only GW game to offer an extend at all, so technically it's among the most generous in Takumi's catalog, heh heh.

That goes against my general principle of games in general. Probably why I don't care much either way for Takumi. I definitely dont' hate them. Anyways, I've still yet to figure out how to trigger it. Thought I knew, but I have died, gotten to stagey 4, and it has given me fuck all.

I've done it, so it definitely does work, as long as you've lost one or two lives...the circle/orb things are about 2/3 of the way through stage 4, on the right side of the screen. As ch5k said, you have to destroy all the smaller outer ones before blasting the middle one.

I just checked a GW video I did about a year ago, where I had gotten to stage four and died (it's not a very good video ;___;) for the first time in the game about a minute or two before the orbs. I proceeded to the big tank right before, bombed, and then did the orbs correctly (I did get the giant bonus medals) but no extend. I'm wondering if the bombing had anything to do with that, or if any deaths have to occur prior stage 4 to activate the extend.

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm a friggin' moron who forgot this game's system altogether in the last year-

Yeah, you need to have lost both of your spare lives before the orb sequence to trigger the extend.
Feedback will set you free.

Wow... what incredible bullshit. :)
Thanks for the info though. Really wish I didn't spend a few days playing this. Really starting to hate it...the long stages and the buick sized hit box. But I want the clear so I don't feel like I've wasted any time.
