The WR Ultra score I posted ended at TLB 3. At first I read it as saying "run ended at true last boss number 3" but then thought to myself, "man, your Japanese is still cracked, J...there can't be 3 final bosses."TWE wrote:Here's the basics:Wang_MacTavish wrote:Sorry for the noobish-ness, but translation?
You can get to the TLB regardless of the lives remaining and the extend settings on the PCB, you just cannot continue. If you die on the TLB, you can continue as much as you like until you defeat it. Doing this will still enable the credits to roll at the end. You cannot bomb the TLB, if you bomb or die on the TLB a green barrier forms around the boss for a number of seconds, and it protects it from all damage (like the first game). The bullet hell it spews is unbelievable.
Now here's the big surprise. If you beat the TLB "Larsa 2", there is a THIRD boss that pops up. This has been confirmed. You can only see the third last boss (the TRULY TLB) if you beat the TLB on one credit. The music is different during this "TLB #2" fight. Again, it does not matter what the extend setting is on the PCB, you just have to do everything on one credit to see the TLB #2. Apparently this boss makes the TLB just before it seem like small potatoes.
That's freaking insane. Two TLBs. This is really going to be the hardest Cave game to 1CC.
Bring on the replays!

thx for posting those numbers, NTSC-J. if possible could you pleaseOriginal: 491,954,754
Maniac: 917,083,496 by Clover-TAC
Ultra: 1,899,434,002 (not an ALL)
a) specifiy the names of the recordholders for original and ultra (assuming their names are readable)
b) post the names of the PALM players for orig/maniac/ultra (approx. scores would be nice, but no neccessity
c) post some of the other STG records from arcadia issue 82? (eg, "galudaII, ageha=980M, myu")?
thanks in advance (no need to hurry of course- btw. if just taking/posting a scan/digicam pic is easier for you, that is fine.)
btw, i guess most of you guys know this already, but if feveron is cleared on a single coin, a secret boss is revealed and his attacks cannot hurt the player unless he uses a bomb. in doj, players cannot creditfeed once they reach the angry bee. so yea, feveron + doj + sake = futari.
well, the scores in arcadia are usually +-1month old, so maybe the 2ch guys already know about scores that will only be published in the next issue? (just thinking out loud, maybe they're full of bull indeed)I read on 2CH that it was supposedly a 3.8 bil ALL clear score

Yes! Let's link to a whole bunch of video links that require registration in another language and expect everyone to understand how they work! THAT'LL TEACH THEMArrogantBastard wrote:Nice. You bitch at me for being 'racist' for saying that you have downs, and here you are using some slur. You still have downs.

BTW that 1.8 billion TLB 3 Ultra mode score was done by SWY-Yusemi. Not a big surprise! Apparently he's the only player to have seen the TLB 3 so far.NTSC-J wrote: The WR Ultra score I posted ended at TLB 3. The weird thing is no one knows if there are more boss forms after TLB 3 yet. It would be hilarious if Ikeda went Gradius on this, and just had infinite boss "loops" at the end, so there is no ALL, just TLB 6, TLB 8, etc. Much like in Gradius how you say the score was done in 16-4 (loop 16, stage 4) or something.

Two Maniac mode vids with Normal Reco have been posted by famed Japanese shmupper SIN. Stage 1 (57mil), and stage 2 (235mil):
http://sinmoon.sakuraweb.com/movie.html
They are the top 2 vids on that page. Both vids show some great techniques I've never seen before.

No, he's referring to the new Maniac mode Stage 4 vid on that page, not the Stage 5 Ultra vid.Kiken wrote:The password is the name of the player and it's 6 letters long: tgaretzlk wrote:http://www.h7.dion.ne.jp/~koena-oi/index.htm

Thanks for the passwords. I really need to learn Japanese one day.
To get the downloads working, there are two fields to input. The top one is where the password goes. The bottom one is for inputting the string of text you see below the bottom field.
On the next page, in the upper left there are two buttons, click the second one. You might have to install an active-x control and click it again. Then it will ask you to download the file manager. Once all of this is done, click the download button in the lower right. (A dialogue box may appear asking where you want to download the file to, just click the button in the lower right and it should download to a downloads folder.)

It may be a very long time before any video is available. There were only three videos released of someone beating the MHS TLB (plus one dual play which doesn't really count). The TLB in MHSF seems much more difficult than its predecessor. The odds are the only way anyone will see a video is if INH gets a top player to make one.Wang_MacTavish wrote:*Hopes vids of the 1st and 2nd TLBs will be posted somewhere, soon*
