Sorry lads, my brother has bailed on giving me a lift down to London over the weekend, he's been called in to work. I don't think I can afford to travel last minute (the train is 100 quid???) at the moment. I'm pretty gutted about this - I was going to see my old man as well...

Hope you all enjoy yourselves at the shmeet though, can't wait to hear about it all.

100 quid wtf
Check out busses, they can be VERY cheap. They suck, but they're cheap.
Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Yeah, I know, if you book a few weeks in advance it's a lot cheaper. I'm not sure I could cope on a cramped bus for 8 odd hours unfortunately.

I'm not a happy bunny tonight. I was looking forward to seeing all of namako and also my dad who I've not had a chance to see for a few months. At least I'm left with a weekend off work I suppose.

Get two single tickets instead of a return. I'm paying £30 for both journeys on the GNER to and from Newcastle.

I'd forgotten that 2 singles can be cheaper actually. I just checked though and the cheapest is £38 per ticket and 80 quid is just too rich.

30 pound is awesome though, how long ago did you book that?

Booked it last month. I always make sure I get my travel options taken care of long in advance.

It's a shame you aren't coming down, freddie. Sure you can't bear a long coach ride? No pain, no gain. ^_-

it's easy to find from King's Cross:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&out ... 0&zp=OUUOI

Just stroll along Euston road, turn left on to Tottenham court road and the Casino is on the right just after Goodge Street station. It's about 20 minutes walk as I remember.

yeah thats quite close to me lol, walking is faster than trying to take transport. takes about 20 mins walking up past the UCL and straight on to tottenham court road.

the road i walk starts as sidmouth street, changes into tavistock place into tavistock square, briefly aliases as byng place then ends as torrington place when it meets tottenham court road. from there goodge street station is just on the left.

its one straight road with a little bend in it. look on the map!!

dumb country.

Oh, bad news freddie, looking forward to meet you at the next meet ;)

Oh well. We'll land in the UK at 10:55, so early in the afternoon we should be able to reach the Barryhouse. PLASMO, Doc, Krgfn, what are your plans? We can meet up in Standsted if the timing is correct!

I'm in London now, and will be at the Casino arcade at some point tomorrow afternoon. DEL, I'm going to PM you my phone number, perhaps we can meet up a bit early and get some practice in. ^_-

Looking forward to seeing you guys on Friday and Saturday. My cousin might be popping around during the meet times to take some papparazi snaps, as she works at a magazine publishers just around the corner from the station. Heh.

Cheers Lun - I'm really disappointed about missing this, I've never seen decent players playing live before (or even played a modern shooter on a cab). I was expecting nothing less than an ultra 1CC, several batrider clears and some 100mil+ DDP postings!

Being an integral part of namakoteam ( ), I'm not sure if they'll be able to perform without me. Hopefully they'll all cope somehow :D

Of course you are, mate. ^_^

It's a shame you won't be coming to this one, but whenever the next one is arranged, we hope you can make that one. ^_-

I'm wandering the streets of London right now (at an internet cafe just around the corner from Tottenham Court Road tube station) and will be popping in for my breakfast at Caffe Nero just above Paperchase, before heading to the Casino for a quick credit. I'll quickly set up a subforum at namakoHQ for contact details and for people to dump photos up of their travels. If anyone wants to meet, let me know. ^_-

(NOTE: You must be registerd and logged in to namakoHQ to view the forum, just to keep some of the contact details secure.)

I'll be down from 7pm tonight.

Batrider is not installed (as per Team Cowboy choice). We ran out of playable cabs, so a choice had to be made between Ketsui and Batrider. Plasmo made that choice.

Games:-
KETSUI
MUSH
DDP
PROGEAR
GIGA WING
STRIKERS 1945 PLUS
night raid, raiden fighters 1 / (DDP Beestorm in Oxford St arcade.)
RAIDEN III in the TROC
plus countless Fighter titles in Casino - spoilt for choice.
STRIKERS 1945 also in TROC

I reckon Team Cowboy just didn't want to give away his Batrider trade secrets

PLAAAAAAASSSSSMMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

By the way, is Ketsui's cab meant to be that loud? It was far louder than the rest of the cabs in the downstairs section. Whenever the Game Over screen appears it sounds like someone's getting brutally tortured in the arcade (which, by Ketsui's standards, is quite normal). ^_-

Oh it must have errored again and the attract sound is on "CAVE COMPANY LIMITED"
Loud as HELL!! I did turn the attract sound off, but sometimes an error resets the machine.

AW Sod IT - Let the Fighter Players get annoyed for a while  .

By the way Icarus, if you haven't already checked 'Game Focus' round the corner, go check it now. Imports are downstairs. Just go to the Hamburger Union place on the corner (on Casino's block) and walk up that side street and you'll see the shop.

I'll be sure to check it out. I have to go look around the electronics stores for my cousin anyway, to price up a Mac compatible wireless router so I can set up her WLAN at home.

I'll be in the Casino arcade at around 6pm-ish, filling up the Ketsui and Mushi high score tables with really crappy scores. ^_^;;

oh my days its loud. some of those guys are quite upset, rather than turn ketsui down they wanna turn their game up which makes less sense, youd turn deaf just by sitting on the machine.

game focus is on goodge street, hardly a back street...

and theres a computer exchange between casino and kfc where one might be able to get PC/Mac related gear.

credits in casino are £1 for 3 and some are 30p for 1/£1 for 4.

and if for some reason you wanna play fighting games,
tekken DR is £1 for 2
VF is £1 for 5
Tekken Tag is £1 for 4
and the rest are £1 for 3

Troc is 50p all the way

Hahaha, pretty neat. I saw some people looking quite irritated while I was playing Ketsui, and had to turn around and walk away from the cab when the countdown screen popped up (didn't even enter my initials as well), as I didn't want to be near it when the RRRRRRAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Game Over screen appeared. ^_^

Were you in there, Masa? If you were, did you see a short Asian guy with a shoulder-slung denim bag getting rather pissed with Mushi's constantly slow-moving pink bullets? ^o^

Then I'll add 2 millions to your score with an even more crappier run! Ugh, I don't touch Ketsui since that 1-all on the London meet, let's see what happens

Posted my details on the NMKTHQ. Grabbing yours. But please tell me what number I need to add to call or write an sms to you if necessary (something like + followed by two numbers)!

Anyway, I think we all agree to meep up at the Casino as soon as possible. Plasmo, you'll find us at the Barryhouse, I think. If not, pleas do what you want to do anyway: go to the casino :D
