My first day playing this game, I just discovered one in my city.

Never read anything in the strategy section or chat thread, so I didn't even know about the C shot, I was doing everything with A shot/laser.... I'll give it another try sometime in the next few weeks.

I played one credit of Original mode Normal Reco today and I no-missed up until the very end of Stage 5 where I ran into a bullet. I got the counter up to 54,000 before this death. I proceeded to loose 3 more lives on the last boss to end with one spare life. My score was a paltry 270mil. Damn!

I really want to break 300mil, so I'll have to keep at it.

Gion, sorry to bother, but could you post a picture of this score from your high score ranking, where it shows how many continues you used? I noticed you took the pics from the in-game screen and the name entry screen, neither of which show the continues used. I ask because today I was playing in Ultra mode and my credit ended a bit before the 2nd midboss. I decided to credit feed and practice, and on my second credit (1 continue) I got to stage 3 with a score of 114 mil. It wasn't too hard to get that score either. On the other hand, if you got to stage 3 on 1 credit your score would probably be much higher than 100 mil even if you didn't try hard to score. You also state you got the game the morning you posted that score, and I'm sorry but it's very hard to believe you got 100mil and to Stage 3 on 1 credit after a couple tries, especially considering you still haven't cleared Original mode on a credit (which is really nowhere near as hard as getting to stage 3 in Ultra).

Anyway, if you could confirm your score was on 1 credit via a photo, I'd appreciate it.

For my score just died on the begining on stage3 so it is possible to make that score and just finished stage1 with 11millions

For Original I've cleard it but didn't post my score.
Ranking was reseted on my pcb so I can't take pics. If it's strange to you just erase my score

no problem, then I will post my 68millions with proof.

How did your PCB scores get reset? The only way to do that is to manually go into the test menu and reset them yourself. I'm not sure why you would do that, especially after supposedly getting 100mil in Ultra on 1 credit the first day you got the PCB! Doesn't make much sense.

Anyway, I will keep your score up because your other scores look legitimate. It will give me a nice target to beat, which I will do soon.

In the future, please post your Ultra mode scores with the number of continues clearly shown. I don't care about Original and Maniac modes showing the number of continues used (unless they're ALL scores), as you aren't going to get a good score if you continue in those modes anyway. Remember people, all scores here are to be done on ONE CREDIT.

Huge improvement in Ultra!

ULTRA MODE - PALM
166,888,358 - TWE - Stage 3 - Abnormal

One death in stage 1, one in stage 2. Got to the stage 2 boss with 4 bombs and no spare lives, I managed to bomb my way to the last form, then I (somehow) got through it for huge points. I lasted about 30 seconds in stage 3.

I love this game.

I got to the last boss with no spare lives and only one bomb. I didn't expect to get far, but I got all the way to the last form of the boss and nearly cleared it!

I used the bomb in a place I didn't really need to either. I think 3 spare bombs or 1 spare life should be enough for me to clear it. On to the next credit!

Well you're not alone there! The game has insane replay value, even more than the first game, as you have basically 4 character types to play in 3 modes, all of which feel as different from one another, as say, Ibara from Ibara Black Label.

I hope due to Mushi's popularity someone is considering a port. It would be much more fun to have a community of gamers to compete against instead of a few guys with the PCB and a few guys in Japan playing in the Arcades.
