I received mine today.
It arrived in a jewel case with one insert and play-asia made sticker (pretty cool). I did not get the special edition w/music CD...probably should have because the music is good quality.
1st impressions of the game I was very frustrated with the play mechanics...on the other hand, I must admit it is challenging. Graphics and music is top notch. Think "Last Resort".
Maybe it just me getting old, but I found it hard to tell the difference between explosion debris and the tiny bullets. I was often hit thinking it was just exploding enemies.
Anyhow, I've only seen 2 stages so far so I can't wait to get into this deeper.

Re: "Last Hope" DC
my first impression of the game is bad... dont like the art of the game (way too dark), and the game mechanics... i couldnt stand playin this one more than 10 mins, i had to get back to Under Defeat.... maybe ill give it another chance, but so far, i dont like it.ROBOTRON wrote:I received mine today.

I knew there was a thread somewhere...I looked back a couple pages before making this one.
However, this is the "DC" version which could be different from the AES version. 90% percent of that thread also deals with comments made by people who never owned/saw the Neo version because of the severe limited quantities produced.
I felt a fresh thread was necessary.
My apologies if you disagree.

Under Defeat is superior to this game by far (gameplaywise)...I won't argue that.my first impression of the game is bad... dont like the art of the game (way too dark), and the game mechanics... i couldnt stand playin this one more than 10 mins, i had to get back to Under Defeat.... maybe ill give it another chance, but so far, i dont like it.
Still, its early yet.

Robotron from the Detroit area, is that *you*? Dude! It's Aron! How the heck *are* you, man? I was just writing on a forum yesterday about our collective experience playing Battle Garegga on the Saturn. Good to see you here, my friend!ROBOTRON wrote:I knew there was a thread somewhere...I looked back a couple pages before making this one.

I think comparing a vert to a hori in terms of gameplay is awfully strange, though. I own Under Defeat, and while it's a nice vert, I'd much rather play Border Down, which is a hori, and you can guess that that'd be my preference.
I've been looking for some Last Hope opinions, though, so I'm glad you chimed in here. Wow. I'm just glad to know you're still into shooters. I'm still working on trying to get my PSP to do emulation!
