I can't read that, but I think it just means you don't have enough memory to save your scores. Clear up some space and it should be fine.

You know, I myself can't read any japanese, yet that was my first impression as well. It does look a lot like what Japanese shooters give me when I play them on my roomie's Saturn (which is the public Saturn, and the one plugged to the tate TV), which is a complaint about not having enough memory to save. I guess once you've seen one, you've seen them all ;)

The word 'Ram' made me think that as well but... how much space could possibly be required to save a high score? Also, even without the proper amount of space for saving you would think the game would let me play anyway...

Some apparently won't let you play if you don't have save space. Someone else on the forum was having issues with Battle Garegga and clearing out the Saturn's internal memory fixed it. Also, with RSG it's not just scores, you can save weapon levels in Saturn mode to three different save files =P Great for use in practice mode. So you can start stage 4 with roughly what level of weapons you'll generally have by then, instead of level 1 wussyness.

It says something along the lines of"

The system's RAM backup can't yet be prepared. (it can't be initialized.)
Please clear all the data in the Sega Saturn's save maintenance screen (please initialize.)
While pressing the L and R buttons reset the machine and you'll proceed to the Sega Saturn's save maintenance screen.

I'm sure I got something wrong so see what others say too.

For the record, have you ever saved anyting on your Saturn's RAM? It says it has not been formatted.
