To be honest, I doubt that this game warrants a new thread. Its not exactly complex.Would it be okay if I made a new thread for this game? Or is there not enough appreciation for it?

Yes there's a difference in sides. The 2Player side is easier. Hence your higher score .
The 2Player side on Twin Cobra is very slightly easier than 1P, due to an easier bullet spread on the ST2 Boss.
Fire Shark's 2 Player side is also easier - slower bullets but less power ups available.
I can't think of any others, but I'm sure there are.

I just gave the game a quick run through with 2P side. I didn't notice any thing too different difficulty wise on the Saturn version, but my score did seem a tad lower. I choked hard core on the stage 5 mid boss.
Then again I was using the Type C ship as opposed to the Type A ship I normally use. Odd thing, I got a bomb power up on my second time around very early in the game on the 2P side.

Hmm....I wouldn't know about the Saturn port. Maybe they didn't put the 2P thing into it? The PCB for sure has a marked difficulty difference between 1P and 2P sides.
Anyway, your score counts no matter what .
