Any way to improve Gamecube Audio?

Post by Blade »

I finally figured out how to hook up my Speaker to my monitor and my consoles to my Monitor, but there's a slight problem:

PS2 doesn't seem to take issue with this, as I never notice any problems with it, but Gamecube's internal audio for it's games really tears up the speakers and they sound incredibly scratchy...

I play Ikaruga on the speakers and the mechanical voice just sounds so fuzzy and whatnot...

I play Zelda: Twilight Princess and everything is overly loud to the point the speakers can't handle anything above 6 and I can barely hear anything lower than that.

If it's just my speakers that are too sensitive or something, then does anyone have any suggestions for extensions for better quality speakers? Or is there a Gamecube Audio adapter that can fix this?
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.

Improve Gamecube Audio by modding to TOS optical output...

For Blade,

If you do have such a Gamecube with the original Digital I/O jack interface, you're in luck. It's possible to such Gamecube with said jack port to give audio output via TOS digtal optical audio link setup -- and with a good stereo reciever with built-in optical audio input, you'll find out that it's light-years better than with the shitty standard RCA audio L & R stereo plug setup. ^_~

Here's the link to do that mod:

Um.....no clue what to make of that. It's just a picture of a schematic.

I suck at mods and hardware. :(

Someone should just make that mod and sell it... or come up with something for the Dreamcast, I'm sure it's possible...

Apparently they did for GameCube - In Japan a good while back though.

I read that in a old issue of EDGE magazine.

A optical mod for the Wii would be welcome.
