New Ships for Soldier Force (Studio SiestA)

Post by SAM »

For those who own a full version of this game.

There are patch files avaliable at Studio SiestA site. :o

Ver. 1.00 to Ver. 1.11 => Add CARAVAN MODE :)
Ver. 1.00 to Ver. 1.20 => Add Two New Ships?!?! :D

The link to the patch download page is hidden somewhere at Studio-siesta main page.

Tips: Look for the "Z" bonus block.

Well, wasn't this an adventure.

First I spend a good 15 minutes going through that main page and checking some of the links for that familiar Z block...nothing. Then I start looking at the source code and find the link to the elusive "sf_1.htm" file. A-ha! Later I discover the picture that's supposed to change to the Z block doesn't work in Firefox, but does work in IE.

Now, at sf_1.htm. Okay, lots of links to Hudson's pages about Star Soldier remakes and ports. No sign of any update. Learning from my previous mistake, I go straight for the source code and find a link to "sf_2.htm". But by god that link does not show up, no matter which browser I'm using.

So I reach my goal. Yippee! The update at sight, a quick Babelfished translation does indeed say something about two new ships, I click the link for the file....

Error 404! Object not found!

...

So...yeah.

It quite strange. When I come back home, the download works again.

I suspacts that you have to change your location in "Regional Setting" to Japan, otherwise the server won't response to your download request. :o

Much thanks to SAM for sending the file.

The new ships, Final Star and Golden Humming are pretty fun. I even managed to clear the first loop and get into Nightmare mode with Golden Humming.

Still wish they'd make a proper Caravan mode and not a half-assed one like it is now. Weird that Studio SiestA has hidden the game's site so well, it's like they're barely acknowledging its existance.

Gotta love Soldier Force for the simplicity. ...and that nifty straight-to-full-power gauge. Cleared it with the Final Star and need a reason to go back...
