I'm still following this thread with great interest, as I've since bought an Egret 2 and am considering buying a 15/24/31Khz monitor soon, so thanks guys for keeping it alive :)

I can also confirm that neither the Egret 3 nor the Atomiswave sit-down cabinet have the rotation mechanism found in the Egret 2, although they probably could be fitted with one.

I may have mentioned this elsewhere (and on other forums)

You can directly swap the Wei-Ya C3129A chassis into the egret 2 and get 15/24/31hz. You can leave the existing tube in place.

Make sure you have the Nanao in the Egret 2 first. If you can peek behind the tube and see what brand+model it is (it's a bit difficult, but you can tilt the monitor enough to be able to see) I can tell you if it is the same as mine.

Re: Egret 3 rotation. I bet you can't just swap in the egret 1/2 rotation mechanism. The Egret 3 uses a flat monitor, right? You'll have the same issue I did with the egret 1, then.

Wait, is this right? The Egret 3 does NOT have a rotation mechanism? And how have you confirmed this?

Parts catalog for Egret 3, and then somebody I know got one and confirmed this.

Ok, so the tube's neck in my E2 is officially broken.

What would be my options for replacing it, besides buying a second-hand similar monitor ?
I have a true flat bezel as well as the original one, but reading your posts there is probably no way to fit a flat tube with the rotating frame, right ?

Looking for some ideas there...

I'll be posting a similar topic on the killercabs forum.

If the glass on the tube is cracked you will have to replace the tube.

It may be easier to just buy a whole new monitor instead of trying to find a matching tube for the chassis.

A WG9200 will mount to the rotation mechanism. The deflection board for that monitor is HUUUUGE tho, and it will be really annoying to mount it in the E2 in a way that will let the neckboard rotate without hitting anything.

Some of the non-flat Wei-Ya based monitors (billabs etc) will fit perfectly in that cabinet. The 'dyna-flat' tubes are too thick to mount properly to the rotation mechanism, so avoid those.

Yes, I was planning to buy a complete monitor, including the chassis.

Wells Gardner monitors are not available in Europe, and will be quite expensive in the end.

Do you have the reference of the compatible Wei-Ya monitors ?

Are they by any chance of the multisync type found on this page ?

It should be the 29" standard M3129-82.

How did the neck end up getting cracked on your Egret II, if you don't mind me asking? Rotating faux pas?

The back of the cab has been damaged during transport, probably the tube at the same time, and when I rotated the tube the neckboard got caught in the edge of the back door and finished to break...

Dammit. Not much you could do in that case. Sorry for your loss, I know how it feels all too well.
