Guys, I just realized that this thread has been going for over a year.

Big props to the professor for creating a thread for music heads to share their tastes and recommendations with each other. Also, huge thanks to all the contributors, many of whom have turned me onto stuff I never would have heard otherwise. Cheers!

So!

V/A - free Southern Lord comp
Organized Konfusion - STRESS: The Extinction Agenda
Pailhead - Trait
The Fall - Our Nation's Saving Grace
Thrall - Chemical Wedding
The Spits - homemade comp

And all this talk of thrash metal made me bust out:

Testament - The New Order

You really must. It cost me £3 at fopp and it's fantastic.

Oh and Mad Steel Darkness, I give respect to anyone that likes the fall. It's what you need (wake up, make a buck) etc.

Right now, I am prepared to upload some Pat Benatar CDs (raided the family collection) onto my Mp3 Player. For some reason, I am addicted to her stuff.

Must say, and if I have to genreficate  music, alot of my favorite stuff is post-punk with dub influence.

Death - Individual Thought Patterns [love this more every time I hear it]
Death - The Sound of Perseverance [will I ever tire of this?]
Cryptopsy - And Then You'll Beg
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence [sometimes blows me away, sometimes leaves me cold]
Suffocation - Pierced Within [same]

Estradasphere - Palace of Mirrors -- highly recommended
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Colin Blunstone - One Year -- Posted this one before, worth another. I need more great 60s/70s pop like the above two, but it's hard to find.
Watchtower - Control & Resistance -- got over the vocals, now excellent
Haniwa Chan - Kanashibari -- extremely catchy & strange japanese pop + cheesy 80s production... heaven :o

Crass - Penis Envy
The Makers - The Devil's Nine Questions (instrumentals)
Waylon Jennings - White Lightning (reshuffled (bootleg?) version of "JD's" that I found at a truck stop)
Skinny Puppy - Cleanse, Fold, and Manipulate
V/A - Amphetamine Reptile Peel Sessions

Haha! Yeah, they pissed all over me on that one. As long as they're acknowledging the music exists however, that's better than nothing...

...still, its mostly a ploy to get me to pay for advertising...fuck!

Any good recommendations in the world of extremely minimal/sparse electronica?

*edit*

I haven't listened to this one in 5 years. It is still great!

On a slightly different note then what I normally listen to...

The O'Jays: Greatest Hits - Heh heh...Got it as a stocking stuffer last year. Worth a listen I must say. Helps mellow me out.

Also I listen to a few OCRemixes every once in a while.

Slightly OT, but a piece of info I feel obligated to pass along for Gorguts Obscura fans:

Negativa mini CD out next month, order now.

I wish it was a new album, but 20 minutes is just long enough for me to care (a lot).

I liked this album. I never got around to checking out CoC's other stuff, but I did buy a replacement for this CD when I lost my first copy.
