I don't feel this, GP. Since you always have Dragon Shot, I don't feel underpowered when I resurrect. I'll go as far as saying that sometimes I focus getting coins and if I touch an enemy by accident, I don't care much - your basic shoot power is not that useful in this game.
It's not a case of being underpowered so much as the fact that stuff has been left on screen after you die and fills the screen with pink spam for you to come back to. Having to use a bomb immediately after losing a life is a touch annoying.

I still like this game though :D

This is true, but the invincibility window time is adequate - well, at least judging from the first four stages... Of the fifth one I still have a glimpse...

Edit:

Javel - Team Sweden - 817,300 - 1-6 - Quaid (Mame)

I doubt that I´ll ever see 1-7.

And one more:

Javel - Team Sweden - 848,400 - 1-6 - Quaid (Mame)

That´s it until Sunday.

Loads of luck, but what the hell, let's go to points!

Missed any possible secret head and tech bonus in fact :?

Shatterhand - Team Old Schoolers - 456,800 - 1-4 - Quaid

I absolutely LOVE this game. Yeah, I suck, but I love it.

I am playing it for score, but I feel I will try to play this only for survival after this tournament is over (I lost many lives trying to get the coin heads or waiting for the core to show up). I never 1cc any Psikyo game (Damn Strikers and their 1-8 levels :D) , and I doubt I will 1cc this, but boy, the challenge will be incredibly fun :)

Not that great a score for getting to the second loop, but...

A strong showing by the shmups forum on such a difficult game. I'm impressed by the scores all around. Even my own crappy score is better than I had anticipated.

@ the Coop: So now that you've seen it all, how do you like the game?
(congrats, btw!)

On days that I'm super tired, like today, I really need to get the following order to get anywhere:
forest > sea > desert > sky
Maybe this weekend I'll be rested enough to break 500,000.

Yeah, WTF? First this cat tops my Strikers 1945 score by 100, and now DB by 1,000? I smell conspiracy. Don't make me waste time playing this game some more.

I really need:
Sea > Sky > Desert > Forest
as my stage order to hit the second loop.
Anything else and I fall at the last boss, from stupid deaths. >_<
I hate random stages...

I change my preferred stage order to sea > forest > sky > desert. The sky stage 4th is the biggest pain. But I like the randomness.

Are you serious??? I find Forest far and away the hardest of the four. Interesting. Those little devils that pop out of the corners are fine if you get them at any early stage, but later they become horrific.

My bomb distribution for each stage to 1LC to the fifth stage at a 30% success (works with every stage order, currently):

0/1->0/1(no two zeros)->1/2->2

Best case scenario: I have two bombs, and am ready to panic kill the bomb carrier in 1/5.

Worst case scenario: I have no bombs, so I die first thing when I see the bomb carrier.

Agreed, this is absolute lunacy. There is no way anyone would want those goddamn mushrooms as their 1-4.

Don't even get me started on sea for the first stage...

A quiet word is in order over at namako HQ.

If you died beforehand you can take them out in a single dragonshot.

If you didn't, spend half a second whittling them down with the shot and then dragonshoot.

Thanks :)

It's an interesting game. It has a similar feel to the other Psikyo games I've played, but it seems to go a bit more nuts with bullet patterns and the amount of bullets than I recall in some of their other games. The random stages make it a bit tough to get better at how a stage is as you continue to go without dying, but that's a staple of their games I guess, so no shocker there. The dragon shot and coin heads are neat twists too.

But holy shit is that second loop nasty

I think it's a waste, its one of the easier stages to get either 2 or 3 (never 4)

I'd rather have sky>>mushroom>>sea>>desert

Believe it or not, I find zapping shrooms as my fourth stage a LOT easier than bombfesting a stage4 Sea or Sky. Sky has too many fast bullets for a fourth, and Sea is just all over the place. Desert is fun no matter where it is.

I can handle any stage order at the moment, but I've had my best results with the preferred order listed above.

...

namako HQ. I like it. ^_-
