Is there an arcade difficulty on Raiden Project? There was one on Raiden DX and that made a world of difference.

If I remembered from the Raiden high score thread in the old forum, someone mentioned a difficulty level in Raiden Project which is equivalent to the arcade difficulty. That's the level I played on.

But after getting point-blanked many times by sniper tanks, I haven't played this game in a long time. Not good for my health.

This is the first game I've seriously came close to ripping the disc up after a death.

for some strange reason I haven't been getting very angry at this game much yet

I'm able to get up to just around the 1-2 boss without bombing or being killed, but then it just goes downhill until I beat the boss, usually going from 3 lives to 1 or 0 remaining.. it's usually always due to me deciding to change directions at the last millisecond or going for a powerup that I should have waited to grab.

I absolutely get angry whenever I play Raiden II. No other game pisses me off as much.

wow i had the most amazing, lucky, run in raiden ever.. i had been playing shooters ALL NIGHT, mainly gunbird and sengoku ace, and a bit of raiden 2.. and i decided to try raiden before going to sleep.. on my first try i got through the first2 levels without being hit, totally blowing away my old score, then i get through level 3, and up into level 4 where i finally died.. man.. i was freaking out from that, too much stress

all on my first try after i dunno how long of not playing it.

That's why I requested a score breakdown by difficulty level in the Raiden DX hiscore thread. I *cannot* play the regular game on arcade-difficuly as I actually get violent. The game is so cheap. (but I love it none the less)

Oh boy i havent played this game the early 1990 arcade release. Anyway the scores i remember setting. RAIDEN 15 Million stage 4-5, RAIDEN2 12 Million stage 3-4, RAIDEN DX 17 Million stage 3-7 (stage6 ARCADE4 difficulty playstation version). highest japanese score i was chasing on DX (arcade) was 23 Million. still got my playstation but it doesnt run nowadays.
