Glad it could be of some help. Though at this point, it's probably selfishly saving me time looking up which Egret II Mini carts have which games, yet again! Always seems to take me too long to find it all in one spot, so now I'll just bookmark that haha.

I've been waiting for this one forever, just like for Jackal… and suddenly Jackal was released. I won't hold my breath for Knuckle Joe, but hey… maybe…

tbh, with HamHam's abiding b0nar for non-Raiden Seibu, I expect Knuckle Joe and Dynamite Duke long before Raiden II & DX. And I'm good with that.

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
A truly lovely experience with the trusty Egret II Mini spinner/trackball controller on Switch. It's a shame that needs obscure converters like this to work, but super cool if you do have one and that lovely smooth Taito bearing in the spinner. Would have been a nice opportunity for Hamster and Taito to team up and release an official Switch or PS4 version of the peripheral, maybe alongside the Taito Milestones 4 compilation since it includes several spinner games (Arkanoid, Cameltry, Syvalion).Sturmvogel Prime wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2026 8:00 amTaito's Cameltry is this week's release

This was one of the games that motivated me to grab the Egret II Mini with its trackball, and quite honestly I've enjoyed the hell out of it. But super cool to see it come to ACA now too! Been on a spinner game kick today with Cameltry, Arkanoid, Plump Pop...
Also Wizorb, which I'll highly recommend as a more "modern retro" game (fantasy Breakout-like where you have some light RPG progression) that also works great with the spinner.

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
The ACA1 port of Taito's Cameltry reminds me of the SNK Neo-Geo MVS game of "The Irritating Maze" arcade puzzler dedicated cab (that uses a dedicated trackball controller setup and if you accidentally touch any part of electrical field with your kantana sword, you'll get blasted with a short puff of air aimed at your face area): https://www.ebay.com/itm/168379280164?_ ... R5Dn2JXTZw The Irritating Maze cab has been shown from "time to time" at the past California Extreme shows in both San Jose & Santa Clara locations and is quite a hoot to play against others. The NTSC-U/C PSX game of "Irritating Stick" from Jaleco uses the same idea/concept also: https://www.ebay.com/itm/178192947325?_ ... R8zKwZnTZw
Interesting usage of the rotary-knob controller layout that Hamster faithfully includes for that 100% "spot-on" replicated arcade spinner setup indeed. In lieu of using an actual arcade rotary-knob controller setup, you can use a generic USB "optical laser" mouse controller or the left Joy-Con analog stick if it needed be, control-wise (but it really isn't the same as using a dedicated arcade spinner which makes all the difference in terms of gameplay/game mechanics). Of course, "your mileage may vary" depending on what is available on hand at the moment.
If you have access to the USB 2.0 Tornado Arcade Spinner listed here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115599394419?_ ... R-aFlJbTZw You can use it on the Switch 1 gaming platform as it has the proper weighted "flywheel" + twin ball-bearings pre-mounted setup for that unmistakable silky-smooth spinning action going on if used in "docked mode."
You can use this "USB-C to A" adapter with the Switch 1 LCD & Oled variant consoles' USB-C port directly without it being docked with the above Tornado Spinner & generic USB mouse controller if so desired: https://www.amazon.com/Female-Adapter-1 ... 734&sr=8-1
----------
In using the above USB 2.0 Tornado Spinner with it's dedicated optical-based encoder wheel setup, part of Cameltry's charm is using an arcade-spec rotary-knob controller and it's a lot trickier than expected when used during actual gameplay, especially when the ball seems to have a "mind of it's own" when trying to go through said given obstacle course. Taito sure had a winning idea/concept with using an arcade spinner to play it's arcade game of Cameltry.
----------
Plus the fact that you use the arcade spinner to select the desired high score initials is definitely a novelty unto itself (assuming that you score high enough to place in the "Top 10 Rankings," of course) -- how cool is that?

Konami's The Hustler/Rack'em Up is this week's game.
But to be honest, you'd be better off if you go to a club and play real billiards instead of picking this game.
TDLR/Few words: I think a Namco release would be better than this.

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
Quick Rave Racer question:
When you place first, you get to this "bonus plain" where you're supposed to drift through and knock over those traffic cones. My problem is that when I get there, I can really just hit gas exactly ONCE, if I take my finger off the gas (or reduce the gas on one of the analogue inputs) the bonus stage quits immediately and I start a new race (AT/MT selection screen). So, in most instances I don't even get to drive off, before the bonus stage ends right away. Only way to even reach the traffic cones is to push down on the gas hard and keep it pressed on max 100% (which completely defeats the point of drifting through the cones sideways). Seem like a bug to me - or I'm doing someting totally wrong without realizing it. Playing this on a PS4 using pretty much standard settings. I just added "digital" gas and breaks to Square and X respectively and decreased the analogue sensitivity, so the analogue steering becomes useable.
Somebody got any ideas on this one?

Too bad it has nothing to do with that classic movie with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason by the same name. I like Konami's earlier Video Hustler, though that one has its own scoring system rather than trying to simulate real pool.Sturmvogel Prime wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2026 8:05 am Konami's The Hustler/Rack'em Up is this week's game.

A tate pool game is intriguing. Always been a huge fan of Compile’s pool implementation in Parlour Games for the Master System (that music!).BrianC wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 9:54 pmToo bad it has nothing to do with that classic movie with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason by the same name. What's interesting about Taito's Space Cyclone is, it was exclusively featured in the Switch based "Space Invaders Invincible Collection" (which even came with Space Invaders cup coasters -- how cool is that?) and will appear for the very first time on the PS4, PS5, the Xbox Series S and X and lastly on the Switch 1 (as the second time appearance) and Switch 2 gaming platforms respectively.

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
I'd then wait for the console archives version as the ps1 has way more features and content. I do not see any reason if getting this. The arcade version is running ps1 hardware and AFAIK has no real advantage over the ps1 version. The arcade hardware may have some more ram or memory or whatever, but I don't think you will notice anything groundbreaking.
ps1 has quick load times, perhaps there is where the arcade version shines? Faster load times?

Well, let's hope the parties involved think a Tekken 3 Network Mode is worth it, ja?
I haven't been keeping up with Hamster releases and it's not a feature documented on the Wiki page or Gaming Hell's spreadsheet, but is ACA2 Neo Geo KOF98 still the only one with network play?

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
I'll be eagerly awaiting a Tekken 3 release. I'd also love to see Virtua Fighter 2 and 3 on Hamster, although that won't happen of course. Because Sega. Wouldn't say no to Soul Calibur either.
Tekken 1 is just a little too old and crusty even for me. I'm sure it's fine.jpg, but I started playing Tekken games with Tekken 5 and even that game has some characters who feel like they're running on pretty thin/small movesets. Tekken 6 (psp version) was probably the Tekken game I put the most hours into.
The larger problem with all Hamster fighting game releases is the majority of arcade fighting games have no single player content at all. The best releases of fighting games for single play tend to be console ports for this reason, such as VF4: Evo. I've said in the past about the SNK fighting games on ACA that they are fun games, but if you don't have someone to play with, it can be a pretty joyless experience to plunk down $8-15 to realize all you get is a "campaign" of 8 or so fights against increasingly bullshitty AI.
Some newer fighting games are better about that but then, some others are still primarily focused around (now online) multiplayer. It's not that I don't want online multiplayer or that I don't acknowledge online MP is the "point" of most modern fighting games... But every official release is taken offline eventually, or loses its playerbase. At that point, all you are left with is whatever meager single play or local play modes exist. Or unofficial emulation (assuming a fanbase still exists for the game.)

Oh wait is this really the end of PS4/Switch support from Hamster? Geez I really don't want to have to get into this latest generation of consoles.
Though yeah what am I going to do with no online support for Tekken 1... not sure what this offers over say the version included in Tekken 5. Online vs in Tekken 1 would be entertaining, the game has so many TODs off really easy stuff that I can't help but laugh at. Here's footage from a tourney Mikado had a few years ago, it's the funniest thing ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP0RYyFo9mA

I'm hopeful it just means that they don't want to try to get the Playstation based arcade hardware up and running on the NS and PS4, much like Console Archives titles skip both consoles (where PS1 games are part of the lineup).
Hopefully it's not the start of a sad new trend but rather just an indicator that not every single new Arcade Archives release will enjoy an AA1 release. I can deal with an occasional release that's been ruled out for a NS or PS4 release as long as the bulk of the lineup for a while yet still gets a last-gen release.

Guys, time for new hardware. PS4 is 13 years old. It's had a good run. It's not a sad day that a small company is moving on to current hardware, and you know they wouldn't if the sales were in it for them. They're not being paid by Sony or Nintendo to move on. The players have moved on.

Re: I'm so glad that Hamster's Arcade Archives are a thing.
While I'd agree with all that (as a PS4 botherer), it sounds like there are technical considerations behind the decision to drop the ACA1 version of Tekken specifically: they don't think System 11 emulation can be achieved with the required accuracy on last-gen hardware.
