Japan version generally pretty dear IIRC, but loads of Genesis carts were much more reasonable back then, ie Bloodlines, or Rolling Thunder 3. Best deal about today on a game like that looks to be worn Canadian loose. Obviously various currency up and downs globally need to be considered as well, plus YouTube videos can give a fairly obscure game a fresh lease of life, which stimulates demand.

Ranger X NTSC-UC still looks fairly reasonable unboxed, but the JP MD version, 'Ex-Ranza' was always priced a fair bit higher, same with Alisia Dragoon. The console was a clear 3rd place over there as I understand, after Nintendo and NEC, hence some of the scarcity today.
