So yeah, I've gotten this recently on both PC/Steam and Switch, and can say that Bikkuri Soft doesn't miss and brings out another banger STG. All I can say is that its good. Just like both versions of Graze Counter. Also...

Entering the name of the specific character in the Name Entry in Configuration also alternatively unlocks them in the Omake! (Neko-No-Kami) mode without having to spend credits in the Unlock Shop. And technically, its skins 1-8 that cost 1280000 each, skin 9 is 2560000 and skin 10 is 9999990. (You can also type these in the Demo version, but they don't do nothing since the Unlock Shop is disabled in the demo.)

The list of names (in order from the shop):
  • Satsuki
  • Hayate
  • Kiriko
  • Eugene
  • Rayne
  • Kamikaze
  • Kiine
  • Hazuki/Haduki
  • Striae
  • Uzuki
Most of the names are from characters previously in Graze Counter GM (outside of Kamikaze, which threw me off, cause it looked like the character "Lily". Had to look hard for that one until now). You can also input additional names, for example, like "Shizuku", "Akane", "Necobi", and "XYRS" for extra character specific avatars or something, but chances are, there's probably more than just those 4 (some of those names you can find in the credits). If any other names pop up, I'll probably update the post, but no guarantees. Either way, the game is currently at updated versions .0301 on the PC/Steam and 1.03 on Switch (as of post).

For NeoStrayCat,

Thanks for the 411 on the additional names to enter at the "Name Entry" prompts. Sure, it'd be nice if dev Bikkuri Soft were give us some more names to "unlock" more things in regards to the full-version of Revolgear Zero.

Weird game. I think getting all the endings unlocks the ship skins - and lets you mix all weapon types across the two ship types (eliminating the need for the separate score boards???) Once you unlock level select you can chose to play a 2-loop mode - but only for the advanced difficulty. You used to be able to start with a randomly generated weapon layout from the level select screen by holding down B, but it looks like this got took out now??

You're correct on all fronts, but yeah, for some reason, the Random Build Mode seems to be disabled as of version 0301. It was previously available in version 0220. For now, the only way to check the mode again is to downgrade the game version on Steam, or here's hoping it gets restored in a later update for both Steam/Switch.

The Switch port of Revolgear Zero has gotten a firmware update from the previous version of Ver. 1.0.3 to Version 1.0.4 today, 3/20/2026. I'm not sure what Ver. 1.0.4 entails but it's been updated to reflect the latest version indeed.

----------
Upon closer inspection, you can clearly see that the Switch port of Revolgear Zero's main title screen sports the newest "Build D. (2026-03-01)" designation.
----------

Looking at the Steam port of Revolgear Zero updated to the (2026-03-01) version, it mentions all of the changes added to it including:

Anyone still playing? Ver.0513 dropped a few days ago on Steam with Six new ships and a hardcore mode. Hardcore mode adds a lot more unblockable bullets and adjusted stage layouts + boss patterns. The many, many 1-ups scattered through the levels have been replace by score items. It really is the second loop that we all wanted. You can play as the dragon now and I think those are the Graze Counter ships.

I like the game but I snoozed through it on my first few tries. This new mode is a legit challenge.

I jumped back in with the new update, beat the new Missions in Mission Mode which were actually fairly challenging. Can't for the life of me figure out how to get any of the new ships though, going to try and get all the endings and see if that does it.

I've been played the game demo before, The game quality is the retro aspect and pretty mediocre quality, Very fun and very-fast paced gameplay.

So, it is in fact getting All Endings that unlock the new ships, if not All Endings + Missions. However, they're mostly gimmicky and not really intended for serious play from what I can tell. Types 3 and 4 are variations on 1 and 2 with different movement and bomber options. 7 and 8 are Graze Counter ships which have no customization options. 5 and 6 are Gigantic boss monsters and are pretty goofy to play.

Still, very good update overall, the new difficulty options certainly make it a much more interesting game and worth checking out at least.

- Removed the performance restrictions on TYPE-1 and TYPE-2.
The homing shot was quiet rightly nerfed for the Hardcore Mode. The second patch has already dialed this change back.
