If you recompile a Linux version can you statically include libstdc++? That was all it took to get it working on somebody’s batocera install so it may forgo needing to do an appimage (so long as people have already installed regular mame from their distro’s package manager to get the other dependencies of course by).

-I tested my current build on batocera and it just works, I'll include both "standard" (with libstdc++) and appimage in the next release
