Magfest 2025 (Jan 23-26)

Post by Kiken »

Magfest is coming up in a couple of weeks. We normally have a thread going to track who plans to attend and what they'll be bringing for the arcade.

I can bring the following:
ESPGaluda 2
Mushi Futari 1.5
DeathSmiles
In The Hunt
Gunbird 2
Prehistoric Isle 2
Zed Blade
Strikers 1945 Part 2

I'm coming, with a pair of panels on Friday afternoon and some gear for the Magfest Museum. This year I'm bringing:

Atari Video Pinball
Atari Pong
Atari 5200
Atari 7800
Atari Jaguar
Atari 800XL
ZX Spectrum
Odyssey
Odyssey2
Neo Geo

If you have any shooter or pre-STG requests to ensure I have available for any of those let me know. Tempest 2000 seems like a gimme for the Jag at least.

I can always rely on Kiken for a MAG STG post :)

I'm only planning on bringing two tate cabs this year. Right now it's planned for Viper and Raiden 4. Both can be swapped for other folks PCBs as always. I'm sure Star will have some eXa games along with some cabs we might be able to swap boards in.

I'll have a Neo 4-slot with 1945, Last, Blaze and Pulse to help out the STG scene. I'll have another Neo single slot with the DS multi, so not need to bring any MVS carts since we can load any title we wish. Two of my cabs will be hori and accommodate PCBs that ppl bring, if desired.

(the rest of my shit I'm bringing is: Gundam, 3S, CvS2, ST, V.Sav, Golgo 13, Chase HQ 2, Bombergirls, Slug 3, Rumble Fish 2, Project Justice, Fate U/C, Riding Fight(F3 multi, we'll see how no freeplay works out at the show)

I'll be in the museum area as in past years with my JP consoles. Because of the Sonic theme for MAG this year, I plan to run SG-1000, Othellovision, Mark III, MD and Saturn. I'll have a PC Engine (of course) and a MSX2 also. I'm bringing a 2600 for Uber to run since it has s-vid (b/c VCS needs to be that sharp!)

Kiken -> I'd suggest to skip bringing your In the Hunt PCB, I know it's a little big so save yourself the hassle of lugging it. I know Uber is looking forward to Futari, and it's a small, easy to bring board!

Here's to another fun drunk year in the Gaylord!

Kiken has asked me to bring DFK so will if I can find it!

I can also bring one of those new Vortex all-in-1 MVS carts if anyone wants to check it out, but it only fully works in a 1-slot mobo.

Unless anybody else wants me to specifically bring ITH, I'll leave it at home then. I could always bring my PGM with Ketsui instead if nobody is bringing the original board.

I'm only going to have Chewlixes out in candyland this year - no JAMMA but I could potentially do JVS.

I think there's at least three exAs coming in sitdowns, not even starting to count the woodies.

Incidentally, is anyone going to Brewbit in February this year over in Baltimore? I was talking with the Dugout Arcade people and they've apparently got some new Cave PCBs coming in soon - wondering if they'll be in place by then. It's kind of great having a top notch STG arcade not that far away.
