Question about Meanwell RT-85A psu with HAS v5.0 setup.....

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

Just recently got a HAS v5.0 supergun & a Meanwell RT-85A power supply unit (which auto-switches between 100v & 240v) to power it up properly. On the MW RT-85A psu, which screw is "ground" located on? https://www.amazon.com/MEAN-WELL-RT-85A ... 289&sr=8-1 Upon ordering the MW RT-85A psu off of amazon, it diidn't not come with an A/C cord. Which "USA region A/C power cord with a power switch is recommended for it?

Would this rocker power switch be recommended?

In regards to hooking up the above listed rocker power switch, is it necessary to hook up the ground or is it fine to just hook up both "N" & "L" on the MW RT-85A psu's A/C inputs without using "ground" period?

The first three screws are for AC only, it's where the AC cable should be attached. The ground/earth should be hooked up.

There's a handy terminal cover for the Mean Well PSUs that you can 3D print yourself or buy pre-assembled for a fair price from this seller - https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads ... les.23195/

PS Thank you for purchasing the newest HAS! I hope it will serve you well. Besides the rapid-fire, it's got at least two features that alter gameplay in shmups, the hardware "arrange mode" and hardware ship slowdown (similar to "focus shot").

Thank you RGB for that informative info with the Meanwell RT-85A psu. I didn't know that the COM screw section was Ground -- good to know. This particular arcade psu didn't come with accompanying instructions/diagram to further explain which screw section is used for.

Once I get the above ordered rocker power switch, I'll be able to finally power it up properly.

Just looking through the HAS v5.0 printed out instruction manual, it does have a lot more "bells and whistles" in regards to my older HAS v3.0 setup indeed. The included tiny OLED screen with infometrics/voltameter definitely seals the deal with this latest HAS v5.0 release.

Thanks again,
