This could have been a 100mil, as I didn't score as much off particular sections. Enjoy the replay, while I go off to improve it again. ^_^

Love the capture Icarus. Question about the start of Level 4. You seem to slip right though a wall of fire. I don't see how that was possible. I don't see you activate the Hodou like Archer did to grab a medal behind a wall of fire. How did you do that?Icarus wrote: Done.

Scores updated.
Nice to see you in on this one, Rastan78. ^_-
To be honest, I'm not even sure where the smaller hitbox is located. I have this feeling that the bullets have a similar smaller 'active area' in Arrange as well. So I like to ride my luck a lot in respects to flying at speed through seemingly impassable walls of fire. Sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I die. ^_^
Here's an example of where I really get lucky. ^_-

Unlike Arcade Mode which features the typical Raizing "vertical rectangle" hitbox, Arrange Mode features a much smaller Cave-style hitbox, probably 2x2 pixels in size.Dave_K. wrote:Love the capture Icarus. There are a lot of times in that 92mil replay where I do some quite baffling dodges and come out unscathed. Like at the end of stage2, before Midi, where I pass through a very tight group of four bullets en-route to a Medal. A few times in stage6 as well, such as my attempt to pick up the Five Way from the first group of ball tanks. Or later on, during the zako rush, desperately chasing Medals.
That hitbox is most definitely smaller than it appears. It can also be a complete bastard as well, when you make a seemingly simple dodge through a decently sized gap only to explode into a shower of shrapnel. It can be even more annoying when you're trying to suicide, but just won't die. ^_^
Most of my best flukes in any Cave game come from completely ignoring knowledge of the hitbox and just diving headfirst into bullets. ^_-
EDIT: 89mil, died on the final pattern of Teresa's first form, at max rank, with a full bomb in stock. Stupidly trying to dodge my way through. GRRRRRR. Note to self: In that situation, use the bomb, knucklehead. >_<

ARGH DAMNIT!
ARRANGE MODE
104,457,620 - Icarus - ALL - Bond (Type D)

An excellent run through, marred by an incredibly stupid finish - dropped one single 10k Medal just before Teresa shifted into her second form, losing probably an extra 10mil or more from possible suicide play with the lives I still had in stock. Also, accidentally speedkilled Lace, losing a further 5mil+.
Replay verified. I'll get 110mil yet!

Arrange: 122.5mil ALL. Dropped a bunch of maximum value Medals fighting Teresa again, and lost 5mil+. I'm starting to get annoyed with my lack of consistency. -_-;;
I'll nail the perfect run yet.
EDIT: Just had a perfect run right after posting that above on my memory card, but the score finished at 118.1mil ALL. Missed the nice and juicy 10mil off Lace's second form at max rank (died and lost all my stored rank). Christ, I'm never going to hit my target at this rate.

FINALLY.
ARRANGE MODE
133,347,430 - Icarus - ALL - Bond (Type D)

The run was a bit messy from the start of stage4, as I killed myself to avoid the 'full weapon stock effect', and lost my primary weapon for the stage as a result (along with a projected 5mil). Stupidly died twice in-stage as well. The fight against Shasta was also messy, but on the upside I gained a couple of full bombs to use against her from the two realy stupid deaths during the battle.
Also made a minor mistake halfway through stage6, dropping a Medal, but recovered enough of the Medal values to take on Teresa properly (barring the stupid deaths both in-stage and during the last battle).
Best point of the run was taking on Lace the way I should have, and getting an extra 10mil+ as a result.
The run was far from perfect, and maybe 140mil+ is my absolute limit, however I don't really feel like trying at the moment (going to take a little break). It is replay verified however, and the replay has been made available (see lower post).

Hi, new poster here. I'm just finishing up my fourth day of playing Ibara and here's my best effort so far:
ARCADE MODE:
1,306,970 - Daigohji - Stage 2 - Bond (Type D) - PS2
That last attempt was the first time I managed to hit a million in stage 1 (including Meidi), so you can tell how bad my stage 2 run was that time. I think the shock of reaching the extend that early made me panic
Just need to hit practice mode some more.
I've read up some general pointers on the game's system, but I'm avoiding watching replays for now (unless I hit a brick wall).

Third place is mine for now.
ARCADE MODE
8,927,050 - Icarus - Stage 5 - Bond (Type D)

Of course, Raizing games mean dying just before you get to your next Extend. -_-;;
Dropped my Medals twice this run - once halfway through stage2, and the other right at the start of stage5 - otherwise it could have been an A,xxx, xxx score at least. Also didn't bother going for the Kasumi technique this run, as I need to warm up to Arcade Mode again after a long spell on Arrange. ^_-

That would be nice. It'll take some doing though. Lets put our heads together and strategise, I'm sure someone will get it if we work hard at it. ^_-cigsthecat wrote:Let's see if we can get G's before the dvd hits!
Given my score at Lace, if I had gone on to ALL, I might have had an estimated B score, which isn't too bad considering I completely messed up stage5 (no max Medals for the duration of the stage). I can see where to get a few more points from, definitely, which includes the Kasumi and Teresa hadou techniques.
E,xxx, xxx a definite if I can pull off a decent run, G maybe with a bit of tweaking. Lets give it a go!

Harder:
3,200,000 - Rastan78 - Stage 2 - Bond (Type A) - PCB
This mode is no joke, man. Just the zako on stage 1 are a bitch to destroy. Made it to Stage 3 only once on Harder before getting trashed. The DVD will have Harder ALL!!?
Nice round number score with five 0's. Weird, huh?
Edit - @cigs, thanks for the encouragement!
