Summer 2024 MD/VA/DC Shmupmeet

So it's been quite a while since we all met, no doubt plenty of stuff going on in everyone's lives but I figured that we should try to shoot for something in July if that works. Feel free to post proposed dates.

Not the weekend after the 4th, we're doing big maintenance at work through the long weekend. Everything else is open at this point.

I'm only available on the 13th and 20th, unless I've forgotten to add something to my calendar...

If needed I can host, but July is a bigger than normal challenge for me. Might be best for someone else to host this time, but I can still bring the exA along with the four games I have for it.

I'm up for it. I'll have family visiting until July 8 but after that as far as I know I don't have anything specific lined up.

Alas I have no cabs I can provide for setups, though I do have a couple CRTs (one yoko, one tate). So in theory if someone has superguns I can make that work here.

I've been lurking here a while. I live in Baltimore, MD and would love to make it to a shmup meet. I don't have cabs. Only stuff I have are the sega saturn shmups i bought when I was in Japan 20 years ago.

I'm cool with the 20th. Am I hosting then or is someone else interested? Just gotta make sure my wife is fine with it if so - in which case I'd probably also aim for early afternoon as my toddler's bedtime is around 7:30! Hard to run things too late with him being the next room over.

StarCreator won't be able to host this time so Minzoku and I can (I have two cabs plus numerous CRTs). If that'll work for everyone I can shoot those who would like to attend my address.

Not sure if any of the folks locally are aware, but the Dugout Arcade in Baltimore has quite a few shooters on the roster. They're part of Peabody Heights Brewery, and it's one of those "pay $15 and everything's on free play" deals. For shooters, I saw Salamander 2, one of the Parodius games, Galaga 88, and four exa cabs with Saidaioujou, Touhou, Cotton Rock n Roll and Crimson Katana apiece. There's also some older games in the same vein like Sinistar and Asteroids, and a Pandora Box with a bunch of stuff as well. Might be a good venue for a future meet! I know the folks who run it, Save Point, apparently bring machines to events so it'd probably need to be double checked with them first to ensure the right games are on location, but nevertheless, it's promising.
