Reocrding Game Footage From The Tink 4K

Post by Jorel81 »

Hello!

Was wondering if anyone can recommend a good HDMI splitter and external capture card to be recording footage from the Retro Tink 4K at UHD.

The HDMI splitter will be sending a signal to the capture device and my UHD TV, so I need something that will add zero latency, and pass through full UHD 120 with all the metadata for VRR, HDR, Direct VIdeo. Something that will make zero changes to the signal from the Tink. Seems like a tall order, I know.

As for the capture device, I have an old Hauppauge HPV2 or whatever it is, and it's pretty old. I think I just need something that can capture UHD 60fps or even 120fps if you guys think it's worth it (the UHD scanlines the Tink 4K creates are really nice and I'd love to use them). Mostly going to be recording retro game footage. Shmups actually.

Everyone on these forums has been super helpful in the past so I thought I should ask. My apologies if this has been discussed in the past, but I'm just wondering what you guys think.

Thanks in advance! :)
