Would you all be interested in compiling a list of shmups that 'take place' on specific days of the year, organized by month and day?
For example, Master of Weapon takes place on Sept. 11th, Raystorm on August 4th to the 7th, Sol-Feace on February 11th etc. etc.
If there's enough interest - expressed by posting below with the dates/games you're familiar with - I'd be happy to organize them chronologically as more pieces of data appear.
The purpose? I find it fun to play games on the dates they 'occur' - and a more complete calendar would provide an occasion to play all sorts of different STGs year-round. I'm also curious to see if any patterns emerge. And it never hurts to have more data. While you're at it, consider adding the year as well (ex. Rayforce, August 4th-7th, 2219). Might be cool, as a future project, to work on a complete chronology of STGs.
