Not sure if this is supposed to be a sequel to anything, but this game feels very much like a mix between Space Invaders and a twin-stick shooter.

Something about the gameplay reminds me of the old 2.5D version of invaders that Activision put out on PC.
Though with less 2000s HARD ROCKIN' C&C aesthetic, and more anime butt jiggle

The way the characters run around looks weird / off to me, but maybe that was intentional? Not sure I like it based on the trailer, I'd say you'd be better off playing Space Invaders Extreme 2 if you want this type of gameplay.
