We are releasing our project soon called 'Megacopter'. The project is not a full blown shmup, but it does feature shmup-lite elements so I think there may be some interest here.
Megacopter is a sci-fi helicopter game that updates classic gameplay from games like Desert Strike and Choplifter and blends them with shmup-lite and ARPG elements. You can upgrade your helicopter, the enemies and projectiles are more numerous than its predecessors, and there are also boss fights.
The project is from two developers: myself on programming and my artist friend. We also worked with an excellent composer Ogre Sound (OST Link below you can listen).
