Are you sure you're using the newest version? They show up just like normal in mine...

You need the bios file konamigx for these games. Just put it in your roms directory and it should work.

I don't think Bee Storm is listed as playable right now.

For Bee Storm you need the pgm bios. It's not playable though, as your ship becomes invisible after the fight with Hibachi.

Isn't that annoying? I wonder how many MAME releases we've gone through waiting for them to fix that with Bee Storm? Patience, grasshopper. :(

Disclaimer: I am a huge MAME fan, and regular MAME user.

But words like "annoying" when describing the wait between game releases in MAME annoy me.

(a) You're getting it for free
(b) It's open source - don't like it? Write your own driver
(c) If you're that desperate for a game, buy it.

Again, MAME user and lover. But I feel too many people take it for granted.

The 'patience grasshopper' remark was meant to tip people off that i wasn't seriously annoyed - just anxious. If only i could express how much i adore MAME without writing a novel...

While we're on the topic of MAME, does anyone know if there is a way to skip and play specific levels(for practice) on any of the CAVE games. I know it's possible to change the difficulty by hitting F2 at the start screen, but I'd like to know of any other options. Thanks.

You can save and load "savestates" to practice individual levels. This is a mame feature, not a PCB rom setting. F7 and Shift+F7 are Load and Save default keys in mame.

Thanks, now I understand. I've never messed around with the save state feature before.

Just a heads up: savestates in mame don't work for most games, unless you are using a version older than v0.99.

The reason for this is because they changed the way they are handled, since it was kind of buggy for certain games.

Also note that you can't load savestates if you change cheats (enable or disable), but they'll work again if you revert the change.

Someone needs to write the new savestate timer-thingy code for Cave roms. I don't like being stuck back on 0.98.

Maybe one day they'll get Raiden II and DX working (had to play both by other means), until then the original and the Jet Fighter games will hold me up until they do.
