weird spots on corner of tated tv
weird spots on corner of tated tv
So I finally got hold of 32 inch sony crt today for the sole purpose of turning it on its side and playing Under Defeat. Well how do I get rid of the discoloration in the conrners? My pc monitors have built in deguassing features, so how does one fix this problem? Is there a solution? Help me please I'm dying inside.
First get the picture back to normal then do it like this.
Unplug the set (or power off, not in
Then let it just sit in that position first for 5 minutes, let it cool off, so to say, then after those 5 min, rotate in turn it on, once rotated you don't have to wait to turn it on.
So to sum it all up: wait before you turn.

Look for any magnetism that could be causing it.
Perhaps it's some speakers somewhere or even the speakers in the set itself?
Really weird, so what you're saying is that in the normal position the screen is always correct and when rotated, the screen has distorted colors.
Perhaps you could read the tips on my site.
I wish me and the TATE boys could go to your house and pimp your tv.
That would be very rewarding.
Please explain in great detail exactly what you are doing without skipping any details and leave the rat poison drinking out of it, maybe we can find out what step is overlooked? But the whole coloration might have something to do with magnetism

Did you read the thread/articles I linked to there (wtf)? Breakdown:
All TVs have degausse coils inside to fix such problems that you are experiencing due to earth's magnetic field (if it's due to some other magnet source like a speaker close to the set, that's another matter). This is why you should try the unplugging/extended power off thing first, as it will be sure to activate the degausse coil. However, these internal coils are not super strong and degrade over time/with usage, and particularly on larger monitors, will be more likely to get stuck with some bad magnetism (discolouration spots) if the orientation is fucked with, etc. The sure shot (9/10) fix to this problem is to use an EXTERNAL degausse coil/wand, which are many times more powerful than the one in your TV. If you took your discoloured set to a TV repair shop, he would use one of these, but probably charge you more for the labor than it would to buy a degausse wand yourself.
Sincerely, good luck. Hope you get it fixed.
