The same thing can be said for spinecards. Games boot just fine without them, yet, you see people's assholes pucker when it's not there. Some people take it a step further and only buy games in complete form, w/ all the questionairre forms.

i suppose some people are just of the "collector" mentality. which is odd, because none of them ever keep their games for a considerable length of time anyhow...

why dont you start a topic about it  it was also mentioned during chapter 7 of "the meaning of life"...

and on a more serious note;
what are other companies boxes like, i know raizing/8ing boxes look the same (with brave blade being somewhat deeper), are there any companies that made custom artwork on the boxes (like guwange) ?

Absolutely nothing if that's what it came with. People could care less about the box. They just want the complete kit.

sorry, i was being sarcastic. i'm not trying to annoy anyone, i just don't *understand* why. it's not the same as a console game. plus, also the fact that they are so simple (the boxes and art), and i'd imagine not that difficult to reproduce if you go to a professional.... in fact, even just the boxes... i've got an ibara boxed kit (but again, only because they didn't have a cheaper pcb-only). maybe it'd be worth it to find someone who can reproduce them, and get like 20+ AMI boxes...........?

hmmmm, see you on ebay...

I think that's pretty standard. It's been out two months. ESPGaluda dropped to about 180k yen in the same amount of time. Mushi is the one that seems to have defied the laws of PCBs.

One note though -- Pink Sweets didn't sell at that price. This is the 2nd listing.

Think I'll wait for Ibara Pink to drop to about half that before I think about buying it.

Hey, zak, is it the brown CPS2 box or the green/white (glossy) CPS2 box?

It is the brown one - same as pda's one.

Forgive my ignorance, as I'm not at all a collector, but: why?
B/c mint full kits (which includes the box) of any Cave games after ESPGaluda are incredibly hard to come by. I wouldn't write in magic maker on anything of mine that wasn't disposable... I don't know why others would. Just me.
Thats the way I received it.

My Ibara box is the old style (lighter cardboard), while my Galuda 2 kit is the new style (darker cardboard). Both were bought brand new. The new-style cardboard seems less sturdy than the old style (particularly the cardboard pieces inside which hold the PCB). Anyone else notice this?

same here, maybe gaijinpunch (or someone else :P) would be willing to host on one of their respective sites?
GP has a great library of flyers and stuff already for instance :)

maybe the folks over at system16 would be willing to host it..

Years down the road will new Cave arcade PCB kit worth $$$?

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

So then naturally, a brand new unused Cave arcade PCB kit complete with original brand new factory Cave box will fetch some serious $$$ years down the road?

(Besides the crazy monetary increase value of such a Ketsui arcade PCB kit with factory box and all original arcade paperworks would fetch top dollar or yen, right?...even such a 'bare-bones' Ketsui PCB fetches some serious $$$ these days.)

It's like asking is it harder to find a brand new complete Ketsui PCB kit than is it harder to find a new PS3 console on "day one of it's launch"? -- of course, those are two completely different things...it's the supply & demand of scarce items that drives up the overall cost if one wants them badly enough..... ^_~

I can do it if you'd like me to. Check the following page:

http://insomnia.ac/archive/games/polyga ... emonfront/

I am making similar pages for all Cave shmups (and for Raizing ones afterwards, etc.) , and I would very much like to include kit pictures. If you are interested let me know.

I don't mind adding a 'kits' section to gamengai.

Okay... back from the dead. I got an interesting box today... unfortunately it wasn't that of a 19 year old Shibuya slut.

Here's what it looked like when I got it from the mail guy:

And then I opened it, took out the contents, and noticed this on the inside.

I'm assuming the guy just turned it inside out. There's tons of tape on it. If I'm not mistaken, I saw mention of "Hot Gimmick" somewhere on the original label which I have sense taken off. Not sure what hardware that is.

Came back to this from the discussion in Zaks thread.

Did the kit box picture archive come to fruition? I have PGM, F3, GNet and CPSIII boxes I could contribute (if I could find the camera!).
