pu203 PS2 -> USB Gamepad slowdown?

I currently have this little toy lying around, and I've noticed that if I use it while playing Independence War 2 there's massive slowdown during certain areas (in particular, maxing out the throttle and then slowing down below 75% throttle). I'm wondering if there's any way around this? (e.g., new drivers?)

Get Super JoyBox, you won't regret it. I've never had problems of input slowdown with it. It has a software connectivity and sensitivity calibrator as well. And I play Guilty Gear XX #Reload for PC on it.

Assuming you prefer playstation 2 dual shock controllers that is...

If not there's definitely something for you on that site.
The world would be a better place if there were less shooters and more dot-eaters.
