Bubble Symphony PS1 Port

Post by KimagureMachibuse »

There was going to be a port of bubble symphony to the PS1 but was unreleased is there any explanation to why this port was unreleased as it looks to run as good as the saturn version despite it not a being complete port and it prone to crashing.

im sure it would have had a japanese release on PS1 but it being a europe only localization would have stinked for me in being in the US.

here is the boxart of it which is the same as bubble bobble 2 on NES which is an odd choice of boxart but could assume it was a placeholder

and here is a video of it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_Y9Jf7ew-j4

Reportedly it's a really bad port. I'd actually forgotten about it, but seeing your post reminded me of an old article on Gaminghell (quality website, btw!)

They don't seem to know what the Taito F3 really is, though.

Got it burned to CD for several years now, it's a travesty of an incomplete port (the CD copy I have, you cannot get to the last boss as the game won't let you). The game tends to randomly crash when certain items are picked up, I even got to the debug menu that review mentions, where you can view all the games sprites. I have several pictures of the sprites, but they are on an old Photobucket account, and not even sure I can share them to websites anymore on that cruddy site.

Saturn version is excellent, this version on the PS1 was rightfully canned.
