That's
literally how the Friedman doctrine, which forms the undisputed cornerstone of conservative economics and has thus been adopted by pretty much every member of the owner class, works: you are
literally not allowed to take
anything other than making as much money as much as possible, as quickly as possible, by any and all means possible, into account, or else you're either not fulfilling your fiduciary responsibility to your shareholders or are competing with those who are (and, in the name of their pursuit of wealth remaining uninterrupted, are
also working overtime to make sure both the government and the public either doesn't care or doesn't have a choice but to patronize them even if they do - which conveniently and utterly annihilates Friedman's weaksauce failsafe of "leaving those concerns to others") and are doomed to failure because you're not willing to
do what it takes like they are.
Short of eliminating workers altogether - which, of course, they continue to make great strides in each and every day - the best way to put more money into your pockets is to strip said workers of both their compensation and their right to demand better, and since that's the only thing they can or do care about,
of course they want to, at the
very least, get as close as they
possibly can to bringing slavery, indentured servitude et al back, and to a larger segment of the population than ever.
