Hello, I'm in the process of trying to resurrect a CoreGrafx II from the dead. This one started by giving a black screen but it seemed to have power. I didn't see anything obvious so I did a full recap.
Now I am getting something but graphics are corrupted and/or missing in places. From the very few posts I could find on the web, it could be bad RAM chips.
Has anyone any experience with this ? Are there any replacement chips that we can buy somewhere or will need to canibalize another dead unit ?
Thanks

Well I replaced both ram chips and it still has glitches. Seems like I won't be able to fix it myself...

Get a logic probe and start probing. Itll be the best $20 you ever spent.

Might be the HU C6270 chip? I had graphical issues with it on a TurboDuo and reflowing it seemed to help.

I did try to reflow all other ICs but not dice. I think I'm just going to sell it for parts. Hopefully someone smarter than me will figure it out.

Any pics? Is it a particular type of graphic (e.g., only sprites are garbled) that could help isolate where to look?
