If you haven't watched the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2, you haven't seen the real movie.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.
An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.
Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

They were very serious about it. (These final hurrahs of 70's/80's franchises are all the rage these days, Bill & Ted, Star Wars, Rocky, Ghostbusters etc.) There was also somehow a Lethal Weapon TV series that ran for three years???GaijinPunch wrote:Were they going to do another Lethal Weapon?
Re: The Shmups.com Dead Pool *now accepting tragedies from 2
Oh good god. I saw 3 and thought it was so terrible that I assumed all these years it was the last thing they would ever do. Now I look at the wikipedia page and see there was a 4th movie and a tv series. ugh.
Re: The Shmups.com Dead Pool *now accepting tragedies from 2
The TV show was crap. It wasn't too bad with the first two seasons, but the third was... ugh. The reason why it failed is because Clayne Crawford was being an asshole on the set to the point where they had a falling out with him.

Oh no.
Biz Markie!
One of my all-time favorites from middle school.
Highly recommend the 1993 album All Samples Cleared. It's an amazing growth from his earlier albums, and far less known. Criminally overlooked in it's day.
Though self-effacing, I always had the feeling that he was getting the last laugh.

I was really disappointed with the cuts made to the fights later on and I really want a 3rd to bring them back.
Anyway I'm not sure how many of you have been around early enough to see WrestleMania 1 or any Mid-Southern Wrestling, but I found it rather saddening that "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff is no longer among us. He was originally to be the no.1 babyface next to Hogan, but they found it brilliant at the time to turn him heel and team him with Bobby Heenan for a feud that helped get Hogan's career over.

You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

Chick Corea, though it was in February.

Chomsky, Buckminster Fuller, Yunus and Glass would have played Battle Garegga, for sure.

Joey Jordison, co-founder and original drummer of the aggressive hard rock band Slipknot, has died, according to a statement from his family. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed, although the statement says he died “peacefully in his sleep.” He was 46.
“We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2021. He was 46,” the statement reads. “Joey’s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow. To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time. The family will hold a private funeral service and asks the media and public to respect their wishes.”

Ah, fuck. Funny bastard. One of England's best in the national tradition of surreal black deadpan. I knew he'd been sick long ago, before making it big in comedy (same interview where he talked about his adventures as a lower middle-class day labourer, a uniquely English purgatory... ). Good that he made it this far.CStarFlare wrote:Sean Lock.

Respect. While I was more into the slightly terser manga, the TV anime is an iconic body of work in its own right, and it gave some wonderful voice actors a stage, too. Kamiya, the late Shiozawa and Utsumi, and while I must admit I needed to look him up, Toki's Takaya Hashi, all bonafide performers. Fantastic OST, too.KennyMan666 wrote:Masami Suda, animator and character designer for Hokuto no Ken, has passed away at 77 years of age.
