Raiden II

Post by TVG »

any version, PSX jp version as default (normal), dont know about the US and PC one, default autofire allowed, suffice to say, default lives and the rest.
those that have the arcade board, apparently the PSX and PC versions are based off the "hard" board, so you may only be able to compete off this one (or i can split the scores)
ill change the rules according to your imput, people, if something is wrong with the chart, dont be afraid to say so.
unlimited spots cause i feel like it.
differences between the easy and hard board are explained on this faq: http://www.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/game/564388.html (cant link directly)

1) The vagrant - 1233440 - 1-6

2) kemical - 423150 - 1-3

3) ---

4) ---

5) ---

590360 - stage 1-3

just got the game today, traded off DX for it, dont mind the sucky score ^^
anyway this is quite harder than DX (on novice course arcade difficulty) but it makes up with the fact that you dont have to worry about flashing medals etc.
also i just cant play on a pad without an autofire, seems the game was designed for it, or either for a stick.
without autofire i cant even keep the pace for the purple lazer to stay "toothpaste" for long time.

this game is no joke...
probably one of the hardest games i ever played, being used to the different ennemy placement of DX doesnt help either -_-

I would usually sit in the corner and have and have a yellow scatter bomb at the ready if it gets heated... But waiting for that tank to pop open that 1up is really a pain in the neck. Gotta have nerves of steel.

1233440 - 1-6

this score would have been funnier if the last digit was a 5.

as expected, getting to 1-6 without red at full power = death

it's funny how the second part of 1-3 is harder than anything at 1-4 or 1-5, i lost my first life life there, as always.

FraGMarE - 5,245,710 - 2-6 - Colonel difficulty (PC version)

I'm a Raiden II fan. What can I say? :)

I will go for All Clear next. I screwed up and bit the dust on the stage 6 boss. Bleh.

Eon Blue Apocalypse - PC Version - Major dif. - 739700 - 1-4

This is my week's personal best, I started playing again on Sunday. These are the week's best so far:

727320 - 1-4
565750 - 1-3
516830 - 1-3

I always make some stupid mistake on 1-3 that totally screws up my concentration. I want to hit 1000000 by the end of the week, but I think I'll need to snag that 1-up on 1-3.

Eh fine with me, its what I'm working on right now so I'll keep posting.

If enough people are willing to contribute scores I would start another thread and we could have a more up-to-date scoreboard.

I thought for sure on my last run I had it, had a slip though and basically ruined my chances.

851820 - 1-4

Still not a bad run I guess, just thought for sure I would hit the million... Always tommorrow I suppose.

Okay, here's my semi-dumb question : is it actually possible to clear? Because I thought it just loops forever.

503190 1-3 - this game makes Tatsujin look simple. Not sure if I'll manage to go much further!

The counter doesn't stop in any Raiden iteration, but it's customary for Japanese players to stop playing after 10 or 100 million (if the score system has the player scoring more than 10 million per loop) in games that have more than 2 loops.
so long and tanks for all the spacefish

Please clarify me one thing!
Does japanese version of raiden project have a proper tate mode?
US and european ones only rotate the view, making controlling impossible on vertical monitor.

It does but here is how to get TATE mode on the US version using cheat codes.

I don't know if it will work on your version but give it a shot. It works great on my US one.

Thanks for the info! I don't have a cheat device, only ps2 slim with matrix infinity, so it's the play-asia where I'm heading for, then..

It worked!

I had to dust up my old ps1 to make it work, but once the setting was saved, it worked on ps2 as well.

MJR 1.319.620 1-6 PS

After many years of madness with Raiden DX, I love how straightforward this game is.

It is, isn't it? [insert obligatory monty python reference here]
But real point of my entry, though, was to post new highscore.
